We are very pleased to reveal our latest upgrade to the Twin Galaxies site!

You will notice that there have been some significant across-the-site changes made to the platform that help to improve the flow, utility and function of TG.

Please keep in mind that the full upgrade has not been totally completed and work is continuing as this is being written, however it has reached a point where we are comfortable turning on this initial first stage and working through the various bugs and optimizations.

Over the next few days you will see many adjustments being made to what is currently being presented.

The submission and voting areas have been significantly improved and we hope that the community finds the changes to be helpful. With that being said there is more to come in that area, as a Dashboard (similar to the one found in the Bounty section) is planned to be added to make it much easier to track/follow all your voting activity on the site.

There is also a major update in progress for the WALL FEED, so you should expect more improvements there as well!

The way we develop these improvements, is by doing it off site on a duplicate system, then we bring those changes over to the main site. The main site is always a little different than the test site, so once we bring stuff over to MAIN, we need to spend time doing optimizations and bug fixing. So we are doing that now with these upgraded sections.

Please report any bugs you find (related to this upgrade) to this thread so we can address them as quickly as possible!

We would like to take a moment to gratefully thank @admin staff and the entire engineering team for their incredibly hard work on this upgrade! This represents a tremendous amount of work over many months to accomplish. The Twin Galaxies platform is very complex underneath the hood as it performs many functions, and making these massive system-wide changes to the platform is no joke!

Hopefully the community appreciates their great efforts and enjoys the continuing improvements that the entire team works to bring to the total experience.

Obviously, nothing is perfect and there is much more to do, but please know that Twin Galaxies is appreciative of the community's passion and participation, and continues to work hard to do its part in making this place the most premium and special experience it can be for video game achievement recognition!

Onward! More exciting stuff soon! This is just the beginning!!

It's good to see the tabs for the concluded submissions and the Reset button for the filters. Unfortunately, after a little play the Reset button stops achieving its goal.

P.S. None of the filter options are a replacement for subscriptions to threads. I have no idea which threads have been commented upon since I last looked at them and so reviewing my past votes based on new commentary is very difficult.

Only the upcoming Dashboard can replace the subscription function. Not the filters. @admin staff

I think this was fixed. Correct? @Barthax

I see it here:

It does indeed now appear & did appear shortly after I'd reported it. It may just be it was being fixed at the time I was reporting it. :D

I will highlight that it's now very difficult to use the timeline bar underneath where the current time indicator is. :(

(ignore this, I just found the switch in settings. strange my full name always showed, but after the update I had to go into settings to make it show again) I noticed on a track page, the names of the people who have the records are now their site screen names, where it used to be their real name. Was this accidental or on purpose?

A while ago for security purposes (testing) we forced all real names to be set to not be shown. We wanted to make certain that anyone who is showing their real name now is only doing so by their deliberate choice and action.

@Barthax - We have added "subscribed" to the filters

I dont know if this was the case or not before, but presently on a wall post, the text box can only be expanded so far, and there is no scroll bar present, so if your post is too long, you can't really go from the start to the end easily without awkwardly using the arrow keys.

I've found the "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys don't work on any page until I've used the mouse to interact with something that's not the banner.. Not sure if that's the same thing/issue.

Oh, OK, nice. I feel there's been a misunderstanding though. No simple filter is going to inform which threads have had new posts since the last visit to any given thread - that's what the Subscribe feature would do. I've found the Thread Tools option at the bottom of the page, so thanks if that was returned or apologies that I just didn't find it earlier...

If I explain in full what that Subscribe feature provided then hopefully, it'll translate better.

The Subscribe feature would update the list at https://www.twingalaxies.com/usercp.php with any subscribed thread that had new content unseen by the user. After visiting one such thread (either from that list or independently), that visited thread would not then reappear in the https://www.twingalaxies.com/usercp.php list until some new comment was made. I could therefore know the threads, potentially hundreds, that have been active overnight (as I'm asleep when the majority of activity occurs) and steadily get through those threads without a bunch of repeat visits.

So now the devs have gone out of their way to add the Subcribed set to the filters because of what seems like a misunderstanding, sorry. That wasn't my intention.

New information in this post: this Subcribe feature is now broken as visiting any such thread no longer removes the thread from that https://www.twingalaxies.com/usercp.php list.

Maybe it is time to remove the example bounty posts, since they are now getting prominently displayed on the main page and we all probably understand the bounty process now.

The options for replying to a submission thread have some parts missing. The Reply To Thread button only takes the user to an error page. The Quick Reply option only permits pictures via the Manage Attachments button and they cannot be posted Inline from that pop-up dialogue.

We will do this once we copy the information over to the TG WIKI.

Yes. The upcoming dashboard should support this function but I will let @admin staff determine if anything else can be done in the meantime.

In submission threads, the Quote and Multi-Quote features don't seem to have any functionality: they only seem to navigate to the Quick Reply.

Is this the place to report bugs? I like the new look and flow, things look to be heading in a good direction!

I'm trying to view submitted performances, and expanding the video window to full screen doesnt seem to be working (on my android phone).

My recent sub is no longer in the queue. Can't find it by category and searching under my name or game name comes up no data found.
