TWIN GALAXIES

We are very pleased to reveal our latest upgrade to the Twin Galaxies site!

You will notice that there have been some significant across-the-site changes made to the platform that help to improve the flow, utility and function of TG.

Please keep in mind that the full upgrade has not been totally completed and work is continuing as this is being written, however it has reached a point where we are comfortable turning on this initial first stage and working through the various bugs and optimizations.

Over the next few days you will see many adjustments being made to what is currently being presented.

The submission and voting areas have been significantly improved and we hope that the community finds the changes to be helpful. With that being said there is more to come in that area, as a Dashboard (similar to the one found in the Bounty section) is planned to be added to make it much easier to track/follow all your voting activity on the site.

There is also a major update in progress for the WALL FEED, so you should expect more improvements there as well!

The way we develop these improvements, is by doing it off site on a duplicate system, then we bring those changes over to the main site. The main site is always a little different than the test site, so once we bring stuff over to MAIN, we need to spend time doing optimizations and bug fixing. So we are doing that now with these upgraded sections.

Please report any bugs you find (related to this upgrade) to this thread so we can address them as quickly as possible!

We would like to take a moment to gratefully thank @admin staff and the entire engineering team for their incredibly hard work on this upgrade! This represents a tremendous amount of work over many months to accomplish. The Twin Galaxies platform is very complex underneath the hood as it performs many functions, and making these massive system-wide changes to the platform is no joke!

Hopefully the community appreciates their great efforts and enjoys the continuing improvements that the entire team works to bring to the total experience.

Obviously, nothing is perfect and there is much more to do, but please know that Twin Galaxies is appreciative of the community's passion and participation, and continues to work hard to do its part in making this place the most premium and special experience it can be for video game achievement recognition!

Onward! More exciting stuff soon! This is just the beginning!!

Question

1. What if a submitter want tell Twin Galaxies members who are adjudicating & voting to vote NO or REJECT their submission? There is no-way to inform them.

Looks like you can comment on a submission by clicking the bendy arrow thing under their comments. At least that's how it looks on an Android phone.

The submissions threads should have a checkmark or some indication that the user already voted for the submission. Otherwise, I'd have to check the submission thread.

The previous format had a green checkmark to indicate this, which was helpful to know what I already voted on.

The changes are really troublesome on my Android mobile phone. Clicking my notifications just takes me to the bounty page. The layout is now very cumbersome, trying to click on the menu can now easily cause me to hit the search bar.

The site has never been very mobile friendly but this feels like a downgrade for mobile use

Might I recommend some kind of a forum filter for those that DO NOT wish to be irritated and/or enraged by posts referencing that scam Billy Mitchell or that fraudulent documentary film?

Not totally helpful in this situation. I get it man, you don't like Billy, no one does, but please don't derail a thread about the overall usability of the site about it.

Not really trying to derail the topic, I was serious as such a filter would be beneficial to my blood pressure, make the flash backs less frequent and keep me calm.

Question

1. What about MAME INP analyst on video game submissions, how are Twin Galaxies members are going to know that the player or players are using the right ROMS for the game they are playing and whether they are cheating or had NVRAM on, or knowing the if they were using Wolmame or not?

Get away from this place if it triggers you. Seriously. I took a nearly 2yr break once.

Also I’m pretty sure such a filter would prohibit you from posting anything ever as you can’t stop talking about it.

Man, I really hope this doesn't come out sarcastic or condescending, because it's very truly not meant to be.

I get where you're at with it. There are news stories I just have to scroll past because they are just too upsetting for me. It took me years to learn just to scroll past and not read something that I was just going to get angry about.

I'll just say this, from my own experience, you'll always have to know that things you don't like are going on. Sometimes you need to know no matter how much you let them upset you, you can't change it. Sometimes you just have to be your own filter, see the headline and know you don't want to do that to yourself and keep scrolling. Especially when you're just going to be ranting to like minded individuals.

It's hard to explain, because I do believe in activism, but there are times where it's not something you can help with and if engaging in it is causing you harm, it's simply harm to you and no solution to the situation. At that point you need to just walk away, scroll past, agree to disagree or whatever disengagement it requires for you to no longer harm yourself.

Thank you

The quick reply to this message. The Twin Galaxies member would have to use this to post a MAME INP analyst here.

You can sort by voting status if you want. However there should be a clear graphic of VOTED for anything you have voted on. Is that not appearing? (I cant vote on this site to see for myself with my account).

There is a bug for the notifications click area. It affects both mobile and PC. It will be fixed in a few hours.

The menu font is too small and will also be enlarged for mobile so it is easy to navigate.

Here @JJT_Defender - this is what it should look like with INP File. It seems that the code from the test site has not made it over yet. It will in the next 6-8 hours... @admin staff
