Dear Community,

@admin staff and his team have been working hard to address the issues that have been reported and continue to make progress.

Many thanks to all the participating community members that have been working with us to help squash the bugs!

Hopefully everyone has been seeing/feeling the progress being made.

The last Site Upgrade thread became lengthy, so we wanted to create this new thread for the community to report any further issues they may have encountered in relation to the recent site upgrade.

Please post any remaining items to this thread so we can address! Thank you and we appreciate everyone's patience as we work through it all.

Our goal and intention is to continue to improve the Twin Galaxies experience and provide a platform that all can be proud to be part of!

For keyboard-centric viewers, the submission pages do not scroll. It is a requirement to interact with the submission portion of the page with the mouse before scrolling via keyboard becomes possible.

The Reply-With-Quote and Multi-Quote features do not work on Submission threads.

New wall, "new attitude", lol!

No lie, my whining and complaining-

I just don't really care for the "look" of the site now, tho it's really not that different.

I've barely used it. Mebbe there ARE major function issues(or were), but if I'm being truthful, the bug in my butt was almost exclusively from the "comic book" appearance, and I wasn't exactly in-line with my continual complaints, as they don't really help anyone.

Is funny. There have been times of change here where I was the one going "settle down", lol, I suppose I should take my own advice-we won't even remember this happened in half a year.

:D

Totally understand about a preference to not have a “comic book” feel/theme and that’s a fair opinion to have.

While it may not be overtly obvious, the entire flow of participating at TG was made cumulatively more streamlined and a bit less intimidating.

Granted, the more academic “seriousness” has been dialed down a notch but it was important to create some thematic consistency with the bounty challenge presentation.

It was also important to give the site a bit more of a “fun” feel, not only for new users, but also in anticipation of what is coming next!

There are still some things to come in terms of theme, such as a dashboard for the submissions page and a revamp of the Wall feed - but - there is something significant coming that is likely to create a fair amount of interest, so we want TG to be prepared for that as well.

Step by step!

The time stamp on the video fast forward bar overlaps with the time stamp at the bottom right corner of the video window. The bold white font ends up camouflaged against the other white font. You might want to move the static time stamp (bottom right corner) up a row to avoid the overlap.

Ya, even a "direct apology", I can't imagine any effort made isn't at least an ATTEMPT at moving forwards, not backwards.

I'm sure you have a vision of the site, I'm sure it's good, and I'm sure in time it'll be as you envisioned.

Thanks as always, for providing us the best place for us to do what we love to do.

I DO live in a World where everything has to be fun. You MAY have tricked me into buying in there...

:P

thx jace, this is one of those things i suck at, but i at least know i suck at. I''m pretty good at knowing what works for super dedicated intensely motivated people but thats often different than what works for more casual people. casual people are farrrrr more common and a place like this appealing to the majority is more important (within limits of course). its an easy point for me to miss until i hear someone say it outloud

Ya, I am NOT blowing smoke-

Jace explained exactly how I felt, and I hadn't even really realized the wording of those feelings myself, but it was spot-on.

Here is another problem the new system does not update with recently submitted video submissions from Twin Galaxies members in the submission Q.

Also, even if you check ✅ the each platform no new recently submissions, it will show old or nothing.

Im a big believer of the trope "If it aint broke, dont fix it"
A lot of my favorite websites have been ruined through the years with updates and reformatting and such.
I'm not saying that has happened here, yet, just please dont change anything too radically if it doesn't warrant said change.

Some things need updated, others are pretty much perfect how they are. I have feared a major change to this website and that happening, but from what Ive seen so far there is nothing I cant live with. I'm fine with most of the changes Ive noticed so far. Im not super happy about them, but they dont necesarily bother me either.

Of course a few small bugs Ive noticed (too dark of text in some areas on dark-mode, cant view certain submissions) but Ive reported all those in the 'report error' thread.
So far there's nothing I cant live with.

i noticed notifactions for this thread in partiuclar work. i dont know if theres some explicit coding to make it only work for this thread, or only work for tg threads, but yeah something is werid about the bug not affecting this one thread
