I posted about this on my wall a while back, but wanted to get it into this thread as this is where it should have gone. Previously, I posted about Gyruss having "Centuri" everywhere, despite most of the ports of Gyruss being Parker Brothers. There was a fix done but that still ended up lumping all the ports into the same generic designation.

I will list here how it should be displayed, with explanations below:

Arcade Gyruss [Centuri] 1983
A2600 Gyruss [Parker Brothers] 1984

First: MAME Gyruss [Konami] 1983 - The year of release for this game is 1983, not 1984.

Second: Gyruss [Konami/Centuri]. A few problems here:
1) The arcade release is done by Konami/Centuri, not Parker Brothers.
2) There are two regions of this game: Gyruss (Konami) and Gyruss (Centuri), each with their own unique scoring tables. Only the Centuri board appears to be accepted within the dipswitch guidelines. If there are international folks who have legit worldwide Japanese Gyruss cabs (think "Kanonarm"), this would be a way for them to be represented.
2) The artwork used for this title is of the Konami version of the game, not the Centuri version.
4) Game was released in 1983, not 1984.

Third: Atari 2600 - We are good here: good art, good company.

Fourth: Atari 2600 - Same as third.

Fifth: Atari **** - Image does not match the game. The Atari 8-bit port of Gyruss only *legitimately* came out for the Cartridge. The image shows a floppy disk in front. See below image.



Here is an example alternative I pulled off Google that would fall more in line:


Sixth: Atari 5200 - Artwork doesn't match the other box dimensions, includes the back of the case. See above image.

Seventh: Commodore 64 - We are good here: good art, good company.

Eighth: Commodore 64 - Same as seventh.

Ninth: Nintendo - Gyruss [ULTRA Games/Konami] A couple of problems:
1) Game was released in 1989, not 1984
2) The American release was by ULTRA Games, a North American Konami alternative label to skirt publication limits for the Nintendo Entertainment System. In Japan, it is by Konami. As both the NES and Famicom/FDS versions are mentioned, this should be included.

No, there's 3 still missing. On one there's a leetch that takes away my record, but the other 3 are a #1 score but no WR.

Just count the number of #1 scores on my page and see there's 3 missing.

It's not the end of the world ... but I thought I would mention it to see if there were others.

The ESI number is also different for some users, when comparing the number on their profile to that on the member leaderboard. I only went as far as the top ESI score so I don't know how pervasive this error is across the site.

Which ESI number is accurate?

I wonder if this one is related to the "lack of pinball scores" in the Member Leaderboard ESI.

INTELLIVISION FLASHBACK MOTOCROSS:

On Course 3:

The player entered his score of 56 seconds while there was an old format for entering the score. By mistake, his score entered as 0.056 seconds. After he entered the score, a proper (timer) format was implemented by admin for all the tracks for the player to enter his/her score properly.

Please change his score from 0.056 SECONDS to 56 SECONDS in the database.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to edit people's scores or tackle problems relating to actual score submissions.

This will need to be looked into by one of my colleagues who rest assured do look at this thread regularly. I will however flag for you.

The top two scores are unusual, and link to unrelated posts.

Several platform icons are wrong. These are the ones I've noticed so far.

PSP currently has the PSPVita icon
PSVita currently has the PSP icon
Wii Virtual console currently has the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console icon

This Donkey Kong track has several errors.

Gameboy/Gameboy Color - World Circuit Series.
Game picture is of the Japanese version.
This track has the incorrect title. It should be "Formula 3" series instead of F-3000. Rules that written would be correct as written with this change.

This tracks scoreboard has a coding error. The scoreboard has the slower time register as first place. It should be the faster time as 1st, etc...
