Hello Juan,

We can help you, but we must first understand what type of track this is.

You want the description changed to: "TO GET FASTEST TIMES ON 27 RACE TRACKS & 6 OTHER RECORDS"

We don't quite understand what you mean by this. Are you trying to create a track for multiple race tracks?

If so they will all need their own tracks. Will they all have the same rule set?

Let us know so we can help you.

Thanks.

Confirmed, thank you!

I just discovered that there's another track with Napa Valley misspelled. You will see it on the top of the page here:

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/road-rash/3do-goldstar-panasonic-models/page/1/

Also, the link above should be the main link for the 3DO Road Rash record page. This is the current link, which doesn't point to any records:

A track I created for Ghouls'n Ghosts [World] Arcade has formatting errors in the rules for Tournament Settings. When I wrote the rules for some reason when it was submitted it stripped all carriage returns and makes it very difficult to read. Here's a screenshot:

It should look like this (hopefully this text editor doesn't strip carriage returns too!):

Region Version: World
Dip Switch A: 1-8 = OFF
Dip Switch B: 1-8 = OFF
Dip Switch C: 1 = OFF, 2 = ON, 3 = OFF, 4 = OFF, 5 = OFF, 6 = OFF, 7 = ON, 8 = OFF
The above dip switch settings will give the following settings:
Service Mode: Off
Cabinet: Upright 1 Player
Difficulty: 4 [Normal]
Bonus Life: 30K, 60K and every 70K
Lives: 5
Flip Screen: Off
Allow Continue: No
Game Mode: Game
Special Rules: Your scoring attempt ends after your 5th Life. Continues are NOT allowed! World version only, NOT Japan, NOT USA.

Track is here: https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/ghoulsn-ghosts-world/arcade/

The Marathon Settings rules are fine, although it did seem to generate double carriage returns, but whatever!

There are a number of malformed track titles in the database.

Here are 2 examples:

EMU - Points -

EMU - 100m Freestyle -

The trailng space & hyphen combination is unnecessary. When a new submission is posted, the system creates a thread title where " - " (a hyphen with one leading & one trailing space) is used to delimit the platform, game, track, score, and submitter.

The track titles above produced the following thread titles:

ZX Spectrum - Crazy Cars - EMU - Points - - 7,044,110 - Roger 111

ZX Spectrum - Summer Games - EMU - 100m Freestyle - - 16.2 - Roger 111

Notice the "double delimiter" in both cases, between the track and score fields.

The condition carried over to the shoutbox when each submission completed (see below):

12:50 PM * Rogerpoco 's submission ZX Spectrum - Crazy Cars - EMU - Points - - 7,044,110 - Roger 111 has been accepted*

01:00 PM * Rogerpoco 's submission ZX Spectrum - Summer Games - EMU - 100m Freestyle - - 16.2 - Roger 111 has been accepted*

I have written a number of functions to parse the shoutbox announcements and extract the various data fields. A number of items generated errors due to the consecutive delimiters (39 submissions in the past 2 weeks), so I modified the code to test for the nonstandard syntax.

Could you remove the extraneous " -" characters from all track titles? Is there a reason why they need to be present?

I can easily work around the error condition, but why should it exist in the first place?

Hi @stella_blue

I'm literally encountering hundreds of instances where there's a rogue "hyphen" at the end of specific track titles, and from experience, it's ALWAYS for the EMU tracks. I'm not sure of the history here or why these have been occuring, but I've been removing them as I've been encountering them during my ongoing rule edits (currently on the 2600 platform). So, in terms of what I'm doing, it will be a very long time before these are completely removed.

Thanks for the extra insight though - although I've been taking them out, I had no idea their presence were causing extra problems beyond looking untidy and stylistically inconsistent.

I'll alert this issue to the rest of the Research team, as well as IT, so everyone is fully aware of the issue. If there's an easier solution, rest assured it will be looked into.

Thanks

SD

There's quite a bit of history behind this one which I've tracked down a couple forum posts to give some age to (the problem predates TGSAP):

Hi @Barthax

Just pulling out the link to Pitstop on C64 https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/pitstop/commodore-64

So literally, we need to insert the following into the rules for ALL tracks for this game.

"Only versions of the game that allow two simultaneous opponent cars are permitted."

Is that all?

Just to summarise the backstory - from what I understand, there was a known ROM hack that reduced the number of simultaneous opponent cars to one, instead of two, as per the original game. Is that correct, in a nutshell? Was this specific to the EMU versions?

Thanks

SD

@stella_blue just to note that the link above displays all the extraneous hyphens that you're referring to. As mentioned, I'm finding it with nearly all EMU track titles.

Hi TG Admin

I have fully funded the tracks but nothing is moving the tracks into the scoreboard?

I notice the message: "You may not vote on this poll"...

So, I have thought somebody else other than the creator/sponsor (myself in this case) of a track must also do something OR vote additionally after the track was fully funded as an additional step. But seems that is not the case so TG is then

the blocker here to enable the track in the platforms from here? Please action, I have especially created these tracks for gamers that have currently submitted "bootleg" games instead of original. So this will enable them to cancel their current submission in the pipeline and utilize the ones below. Instead of discourage them to submit scores please action/enable to be available for them.

Four of them.. See Cummunity founded tracks:

https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/192149-Arcade-XXX-1-Multi-PCB-Ms-Pac-Man-(Bootleg)-Normal-Speed-(TGTS-rules-full-TGSAP

I cannot see the progress on these tracks to move them into the scoreboard, what is the delay?
