Request: update the Warrior Blade MAME track

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/warrior-blade-rastan-saga-episode-iii-japan/mame/points-single-player-only/

with DIP switch settings corrections

Replace Unused: Off with Magic Energy Loss: Always Player
Replace Rounds: Normal [10-14, Depends On Skill] with Rounds: Normal (10-14, depends on skill)

Note: the "Rounds" correction is not superficial. The "input view" command displays default DIP switch settings within straight brackets, so this correction is highly adviseable

Delete Special Note: Please be aware that this game makes ridiculously huge INP files. They still manage to zip under 10 Megs though.

Reason: the "Special Note" is nonsense. The game does not generate "ridiculously huge" INPs. Even if it did, that would not matter. I recently analysed an INP, which was over 12 megabytes in size, and the submitter reported no problems uploading it.

Rim Rockin' Basketball [V2.2]
https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/rim-rockin-basketball-v22/mame

From the rules: "Video Sync: Negative".
I tried with the following versions of WolfMAME: 220, 183, 151, 140... but it seems there's no way to get this. Video Sync is set on Positive on the DIP switches and it seems it can't be changed, even via Internal Settings. Since I guess this doesn't affect the gameplay at all, is it possible just to delete that line from the rules in order to avoid objections if someone will decide to submit a score? Thanks in advance.

@admin staff The following track's rules are vague.

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/barnstorming/atari-2600-vcs/hedge-hopper-experta-emu

They state "Complete the game on Game 1 Expert. IGT [in-game timer] is used."

"Completing the game on Expert" is vague, and not a valid explanation of how the game should be played. This vague description could theoretically mean playing with the setting A/B, B/A, or A/A, or any combination of the three, each one forcing a different gameplay experience than the others. It seems clear to me that the intent of the track creator and its sponsors was to require "A/A". They can chime in and correct me if I'm inaccurate @oORaydenOo @CWK @Doron

Please update the rules to state the following:

"Left and right difficulty switches must both be set to A/Expert. IGT is used."

If track title conformity/consistency is important, the track title should be updated to read:

EMU - Game 1, Difficulty AA [Fastest Time]

There is only one submission on this leaderboard, which belongs to the track creator so the risk of negative manifestations, short or long term, are negligible.

Hi, I've noticed that on the Pacman High Score list, 4 people have their scores listed under both Arcade & Mame (the Mame scores all entered for the same date).

I find it unlikely that all 4 players managed to get the same score as their previous submissions but on different platforms all on the same date.

The original dates were not available & the date listed represents the date of import onto the (then-new version of the) scoreboard.

Prior to the 2004-2005 re-working of the site, the scores were splintered across the Internet, with MAME scores being listed on cubeman.org: http://cubeman.org/mame.txt

As already stated though, TG has the scores listed in the Pac-man Mame High score list & the Pac-man Arcade High Score list...the Mame scores all need to be deleted as they were all originally verified by referee on Arcade.

This must have been a common practice double a players records with certain Twin Galaxies Referee's for friends or not paying attention.

Hehe, I completely missed that point! However, it is the other way around: the Arcade scores should be removed as they were originally verified on cubeman.org which is MAME only.

I'm not convinced at all. 3 of the 4 scores in The Arcade High Score List are from 1984 or 1985. Mame didn't appear till 1997.

I can see why that feels a more suitable outcome. It's one of those circumstances where piecing other information together is needed for a balance of probability.

Personally, I put more faith on the cubeman site: one man (Mark Longridge) - as far as I know, the only man with access and control over the cubeman site - must have received and adjudicated a MAME submission for it to have appeared in his MAME list. It's conceivable there were imports, so isn't proof.

The flip side is: the scoreboard is known for many date errors pre-2006 due to the 2004/5 re-working of the website and the importation process produced provided multiple scores with less-than satisfactory information. The scoreboard, as at some-time in 1984 is available on https://www.twingalaxies.com/wiki_index.php?title=Historical:The-Twin-Galaxies-Legacy-Leaderboard-Archive - again, conceivable that was printed prior to the above scores so isn't proof either.

Hi Admin,

I made a couple of mistakes when creating these 2 Tracks

This one needs the RANKING Method changed to LOWEST is Best

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/decathlon/atari-2600-vcs/pal-1500-meter-race-fastest-time/page/3?ref=fbshare

This one needs the RANKING Method changed to LOWEST is Best, and

Score Type needs to be corrected to Elapsed Time

Requesting rule clarification for the following track

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/family-dog/super-nintendo-entertainment-system

Reason: This game has extra life pickups which regenerate upon dying, and items which give points also regenerate. It seems like there is too much grey area to how many times this can be done. A specific number of times you are allowed to pick up the same extra life pickup (like once) would be more appropriate I feel.

Thank you!
