Good call but in the current implementation of that form it will just create a game against the first game in the Game drop-down list and not the game associated with the Track selected. :P

The way it should work, is select the game first, then the tracks in the track drop down are dependent on and limited to the game that was previously selected.

That is the way it works (providing you start with the Platform).

No, that is not at all how it appears for me.

For me it defaults with 3D0 and Real Pinball selected. Change platform, and still all games are displayed, change game, still all tracks are displayed.

Sounds like a bug. I do experience a weirdness that whatever game appears first doesn't change ("Total Eclipse" is always shown for me until a selection is made in the Game list) in the list but the content of the Game list (and Tracks but not shown) does change correctly based on Platform selection:

Game selection will then reduce the content of the Track selection drop-down.

... Just don't go "up" the form if you make a mistake: those drop-downs will start to crap out. Reload the form instead.

i havent tried making a new track since you explained that recently here, but i do have one more microvision track to make, i'll test it

assuming you're correct, then it should FORCE you to do that and not allow track selection until the hierarchy is picked first

allowing you to trigger a bug, while i typically like freedom, isnt good design

@Jace Hall ask @admin staff to:

1. Delete the Super Bikes 2 by Raw Thrills track there are 0 zero Twin Galaxies world records? This one is not needed, only Super Bikes 2 with 25 Twin Galaxies world records should be the only one.

Here is the link. https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/super-bikes-2-by-raw-thrills/arcade

2. Please put back Super Bikes 2 track that has 25 Twin Galaxies world records on the Free derivative track list. This is existing track that I created, founded, & funded. and the Twin Galaxies rules already. This will allow me to create the last 28 Free derivative tracks 15 Most Bike Air Time and 13 Most Bike Tricks.

Here is the link. https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/super-bikes-2/arcade

There are 4 pages of Twin Galaxies world records.

B. Most Bike Air Time

C. Most Bike Tricks

1. Yes, I lost access to Super Bikes 2 tracks.

1a. @Jace Hall @admin staff reestablish my ability to allow me to create these already established approved Twin Galaxies rules, created, founded, funded track Super Bikes 2.

2. Then if that is the case then that would be main reason why am not able to create the 28 FREE Derivative tracks for 15 Most Bike Air Time and 13 Most Bike Tricks.

3. But that does not explain why Super Bikes 2 track appear in the list of tracks only 2 Super Bikes 2 by Raw Thrills is there.

4. The latter part of the question I do not understand?

Barthax: Now for the difficult question: Are the original Super Bikes tracks something you lost access to because of previous behaviour?

Notice there is a scroll bar on the drop-down list: what is in the top of the drop-down (scroll up)?

Yes, this is correct and not a problem/bug. You have two different base tracks on "Super Bikes 2 by Raw Thrills" and so there are two entries for the same game - just like you have many many entries for "Fast and Furious Super Cars / Super Cars" because of the number of tracks you've sponsored on that game. This is normal and part of what makes navigating this a frustration.

I have a piece of friendly advice: you have made this request many times in the past week. TG staff know about the request but have not responded to it or have not had the time to concentrate on it to a conclusion. Give them some time to take a breath and allow them a month to come back to you. Ruminate with peace.

TG staff, Fordy: Ignore this one, I'll leave it intact below but when looking at Espgaluda II I became suspicious something was going on that I wasn't seeing. I delved into the source code file cv1k.cpp and discovered this introduction which explains why these findings may not be stable or worth pursuing/distinguishing on the scoreboard:

----

Cave often programmed the u2 roms onto defective flash chips, programming around the bad blocks.
As a result these are highly susceptible to failure, blocks around the known bad blocks appear to
decay at an alarming rate in some cases, and in others data has clearly been programmed over
blocks that were already going bad. - this is why the same game often has different u2 roms
in the different sets at the moment. - these will be reconstructed at some point.

The flash roms do contain a 'bad block' table, so it should be possible to rebuild a 'clean'
flash ROM for each game by comparing multiple dumps of each game and ensuring no other data has
decayed. Naturally this is not an ideal situation for the less common games!

----
Essentially: potentially every PCB will register a different dump even if the game is exactly the same. As the MAME team haven't concluded their investigations, I will hang fire on any recommendations for rules 'cause they'll probably change again in a few versions. :(

Original request:

----

I'm making the assumption that @Fordy intended the Ibara track to be limited to the one ROM set, so if Paul could chime in to confirm/correct my perspective on his track, please. So, on the assumption that the track should be a single ROM set...

Could the game Ibara be updated to reflect the changes in MAME history since the track was created, please.

- 0.250: alamone added Ibara (2005/03/22 MASTER VER.., '06. 3. 7 ver.). Note: Newer revision CV1000-B PCB. Renamed (ibara) to (ibarao).

TG Game Entry: https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/ibara/mame/
Rules, Points: https://www.twingalaxies.com/scores.php?scores=200771

Could the game name be updated to "Ibara (2005/03/22 MASTER VER..)" to distinguish it from the new-to-MAME "Ibara (2005/03/22 MASTER VER.., '06. 3. 7 ver.)".

Could the ROM set indicated by the rules be updated to reflect the change n version access:

Before:

Rom: ibara

After:

ROM Set:
0.142u5-143u1: ibara - "Ibara Kuro"
0.143u2: ibara - "Ibara (2005/03/22 MASTER VER..)"

The picture against the PC game Starball on the scoreboard is from the wrong game. The scorebard entry originates from the Tower of Pinball and is taken from the 1996 DOS game: many of the scores can be matched up against the archived version. The current picture is taken from the 2004 release Star Ball which is a breakout/arkanoid sryle game.

Could the legacy Donkey Kong 3 tracks be updated to reflect changesto the Difficulty switch in MAME history, please.

- 0.222: Changed 'Difficulty' dipswitch string to numbers [hap].

The comparative changes are:

Difficulty up to: 0.221: Easy / Medium / Hard / Hardest
Difficulty from : 0.222: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

The member-created tracks already cater for the change so only the legacy tracks need some TLC:

Medium -> 2:
Rules, Points [Marathon]: https://www.twingalaxies.com/scores.php?scores=7724
Rules, Points [Tournament]: https://www.twingalaxies.com/scores.php?scores=55855

Before:

Difficulty: Medium

After:

Difficulty: Medium / 2

Hardest -> 4:
Rules, Points [Donkey Kong 3 [US] Hardest (Marathon settings)]: https://www.twingalaxies.com/scores.php?scores=199619

Before:

Difficulty: Hardest

After:

Difficulty: Hardest / 4

Can this track be removed or my submission removed.

If no to the above can the rules be changed to the following below

Change "Bonus life: 20000" to "Bonus life: 30k 70k 40k+"

My submission is the only one on the track.

I'd like to edit the track so that errors won't be made like mine.

I'm not trying to accommodate my error I'm trying to make it so that others won't make the same error. The default settings are "Bonus life: 30k 70k 40k+" and I like to keep things simple. Other non default settings I made sure to make a note in the rules description in Big Red Letters. I forgot to do that on this one. If you want to edit the rules and put in Big Red Letters then that will work also.

https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/260071

Hey guys. On the browser I was using, the site was insisting on a three digit millisecond, and wouldn't let me enter just two. Backspace and Del appear to work in the opposite way also. Is there a way to allow users to enter just two digits here, depending on the game?

I have since figured out that Chrome works ok, by adding .880 for example. I've had quite a few people vote for these so it would be a huge pain to re-submit now. Would someone be able to please update them both to the correct times? I'll know what to do in the future now to get around this :)

Please can the (full video not required) track be removed? I submitted a run to this and it was rejected due to not providing a full video, even though I provided full evidence of a 3 man game directly after. We may as well remove this track as even when a submission met its rules, it was rejected by the sites default rules.

Please can you remove my score from the 'Factory Default' scoreboard. It was added in error to the track that we now know to be 'set3' and not the revised more difficult game, so this submission is now incorrect. Just to confirm, it's the 31,680 score. Thanks :)
