TG Advertising

Using Stella's recent stats, we know that 1,128 submissions were processed in a recent 40 day period, or 10,293 videos per year total.

If we can add two additional advertising clips inside of each submission video, that would be 30,979 additional hits! This does not include the 10,293 additional hits from the 5 second ad in the front of all current videos.

I'm not sure what the average submission video length is, but as for the longer 20 minute plus videos, we could probably add a few more advertising breaks. TG has stats on video length i'm sure. I'd say a video ad every 10 minutes is reasonable (maybe even every five minutes?).

There is lot's of advertising income potential here for sure.

I have YET to see any ads, whatsoever, anywhere on the site . Ah, it must of been when I installed "ad-blocker" from a few years ago, when I first noticed it happened.

    (Works like a charm)

Thanks Marc. I'm looking for revenue enhancing ideas.

TG could also find a swag supplier of tshirts, mugs etc and license their logo. Once a reputable supplier is located, TG doesn't have to do anything other than cash the licensing fee check every month. People get swag, TG receives income.

    Does AAA know?

The good news, is that the next time I trek back to the Sahara desert, I am booking by travel with you. Max is my new insurance agent. More revenue for you!!! :)

Haha. No. AAA is not aware. I thought however, that AAA is about travel insurance, not travel booking. I will gladly insure your next trip to the Sahara. DM me for details. I'll give you an excellent rate. :D

A little advertising is just as irritating as a lot, so why not just go all the way and maximize it? Ads every five minutes of video I say. Easy. Licensing swag? Easy. Let's go! gogo!

Here is an image of my net 10 wall page Marc, to give you an idea as to what many of us see:

I cannot agree with that. Every 5 minutes is way too much and very counter-productive for anyone to adjudicate properly. Otherwise, give us original game submitters -50% of any ad revenue viewings from it, while TG keeps the rest.

Woah. I just added Ublock and everything loaded wayyyy faster along with no longer having the Net10 home page experience. I have to try and adjudicate a few too to check for ads there. My ublock thingy has a big pile of stuff in it as well.

Now I feel like I'm shorting TG. Should we consider another #right2game campaign?

    How about a #noright2takeyourbandwidth campaign.

Give @datagod a high-five for recommending it a while back.

Hundreds of megabytes of my data plan for simply having the app run in the background. No response whatsoever.

43 javascripts running on this page right here. 43!!

No compression. Website gets a D- on "analyze my website" for missing SIMPLE and OBVIOUS ways to improve performance.

    USE COMPRESSION ALREADY!!

I take it back. I re-checked and it now seems that the website is using GZIP to compress pages. Exellent. This must have been recently implemented. Thanks for taking my suggesting.
