Question to you Robert RTM and Barthax

1. What do you think his punishment should be if he is found to guilty of cheating?

2. How many years should Rodrigo Lopes BAN be?

3. How many Rodrigo Lopes Records should be deleted, only Referee records or all or what?

4. Should Rodrigo Lopes be allowed to submit video game submissions while he is on the ban?

i was just gonna read this one and not argue, but i HAVE to ask a question
"4. Should Rodrigo Lopes be allowed to submit video game submissions while he is on the ban? "

how is it possible to submit records while banned? isnt this like asking "should be banned and not banned at the same time?". i'm curious what you mean by the word "ban" since apparently under you definitno of ban the user could still have access and submit

Plot twist: Jace was just trying to buy Rodrigo new deodorant.

Hi Juan, I'm assuming that Jace dropped the anvil at some point since last night as I'm looking at the social page at lunch while at work and see all these new posts.

I'll respond to your questions as best as I can...assuming a ban has been put into effect.

    1. What do you think his punishment should be if he is found to guilty of cheating?

RTM REPLY -TG previously had a "policy" of all-or-nothing many years back. That was from the original administration. It's up to Jace and his team if he feels that the policy is to be kept as is or if it is too draconian in scope. That policy was all scores out of the database.

I'd like to say that it would have contained a ban to some effect from future submissions BUT Walter (way back) allowed Steve Sanders to continue to submit so that set the "bar" for penalties way back then.

    2. How many years should Rodrigo Lopes BAN be?

RTM REPLY - to be perfectly fair, in accordance with recent era "bans" such as Rudy, a year. But as such "bans" are rare for heavy submitters, especially active submitters, there are not many precedents from which to base a consistent decision. Without knowing what the other active-submitter bans were and the punishments meted out, I'd off-hand suggest a year.

    3. How many Rodrigo Lopes Records should be deleted, only Referee records or all or what?

RTM REPLY - that's a personally tough one as he submitted a large number of verified scores on titles that I personally competed with him on for the Sega DC and original XBox platforms...I'd really hate to see those go, but the decision is ultimately for Jace and his team. The big question is whether "all scores" includes post-2013 submissions.

    4. Should Rodrigo Lopes be allowed to submit video game submissions while he is on the ban?

RTM REPLY - I'd have to say no as the system has no capacity for this. When Rudy was banned he gamed on his own and built up submissions for if/when the ban would be overturned...I'd say the same would have to apply evenly to Rodrigo.

Why differentiate between cheaters? If Todd Rodgers and Billy Mitchell were found cheating - they get a life ban regardless if some scores were previously refereed/approved.

Now in Lopes case if he did cheated why handle his case differently?

Does TG have classifciations of "cheating" ....?

A liitle bit.. only one game

    .............

A little more ... few games....

    ...............

A huge cheater - cheated on a game like Donkey Kong...

So for Lopes - if he is guilty - it will be scenario 1?
