Been thinking about the whole FPGA/EMU/Original platform intermix issue.

It is my opinion that it is probably best for Twin Galaxies to keep all platforms separated in terms of leaderboard participation at this time.

This means that things like FPGA will exist on their own hardware basis, and not be considered to be competitively "the same" as the original hardware they are trying to replicate.

Keeping things more pure in this manner may help adjudicators have greater clarity and reduce confusion.

With that in mind, Twin Galaxies will need to be more proactive and comprehensive in terms of adding platforms to its competitive list so that all can be served as needed.

I would ask the community to please try to provide a comprehensive list of additional platforms that Twin Galaxies should immediately add to help create opportunities for the users of those platforms to create tracks on and fairly compete with each other.

If there are any strong disagreements with this direction I am open to hearing the rationale.

I would suggest:

1292 Advanced Programmable Video System / VC 4000

or maybe even:

1292 / 1392 / VC 4000

Yes I know. This is how @admin staff works. Everything is so literal. That was written in the wiki so that is what went it. I told him to fix it

The Wiki also indicates "Note that being on this list does NOT indicate the system has trackable games. It is entirely possible a system on here may have not have any games that make sense to be tracked on Twin Galaxies."

Adding platforms should require research and community collaboration, not just taking an action.

Also the nomenclature for all previous systems as been Manufacturer System, all of these new ones are now System (Manufacturer)

There wasn't any consistency really. 3DO had the bracketted manufacturers, Sony and Microsoft didn't have their manufacturers at all. Atari, Commodore & Sega were almost all prefixed and Nintendo were all over the place.

Heck, you can argue that the 3DO entry is even incomplete, as SAnyo also made a 3DO console and that's not listed.

As for MSX... shudder at the list of manufacturers. :P

Can we add an Xbox One track for Galaga? We have one for the 360 but not for the Xbox One. The name of Galaga on Xbox One is titled "Arcade Game Series: Galaga"

The community can certainly help with this. I'd suggest making a Wall Post of your own and the community will likely help out. Just to give you an idea, the wiki covers creating new games & is much easier than adding a platform: https://www.twingalaxies.com/wiki_index.php?title=Policy:How-can-I-add-a-new-game-or-game-variation-to-the-database
