We are currently contemplating asking @admin staff TG develop and implement an automatic way for an INP file to to be broken up and displayed, so that inside a submission thread the relevant INP data can be processed and shown to adjudicators to help them make the best determinations they can.

We have the engineers to accomplish the task with some proper guidance.

If you have suggestions, knowledge or access to tools that may help with this kind of effort - please post your thoughts here.

First step is getting feedback, so off we go! :)

Limit automation efforts to one version of mame for now, say .183, then build out from there. All other versions could be analyzed manually while TG goes about building their INP analysis village.

This shouldn't have been accepted since the inp couldn't be uploaded directly to TG

The issue needs to be fixed on TG's end but the people voting yes here should be penalised as well.

This is a very good idea. And it would be a 1st in the video gaming world. I do not believe MARP has this automation set up. It will promote gamers to submit performances to TG for MAME, and save a great deal of time and pain when this is done manually.

My suggestion would be to provide this service for 106 and say another version, perhaps as Max suggested 183. 106 was used at TG for over 15 years and was the only standard for submission. The program you build will also be capable of analysis if so desired on previous 106 and 183 submissions. The main keys are to check: correct dip settings were used, the acceptable speed was used, correct ROMs were used, no auto-fire, no saving, and no stitching of inp files together to cheat. The last point is very important, as there are those in the community who have the support or knowledge to build these cheat inp files. I would suggest to also "build in" the inp stitch check procedure (if this can actually be detected as a cheat, as we have no proof) , like the one MARP claims they have. This stitch check should be used on all submissions, and used to check all previous submissions in 106 and 183. (This submission was accepted by the TG community, including Andrew Barrow former world champion, and it still sits in the Accepted archive ... https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/147531-M-A-M-E-Galaga-Namco-rev-B-Points-Marathon-20-000-000-Jose-Ramis. The findings are recorded in this thread https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/149814-Please,-help-me-,-MARP--it-is-lying-about-me?p=805185#post805185 )

To manage submissions and simplify the program, going forward, only a limited number of WM versions should be acceptable. If this is implemented in the future, you'll need to let the gamers know what versions they are so they can comply.

I agree with OOO. Both version : 106 and 0.183 were also suggested by me for same reasons here:
