Just a quick note to the community:

@admin staff has been working on all the back end issues and such to continue to make the site a smoother experience. It looks like we will be upgrading our server very soon for much increased performance so that will be good.

We are trying to fix all the accumulation of smaller items that definitely need addressing, so you should be seeing improvements there inch by inch as well.

We should be able to get through all of that stuff in the next 1-3 weeks. After that we can turn our attention to more meaty items, like finally getting 2 player team records properly handled in the system and other items of that nature that help to make competition easier/more fun / rewarding.

In the meanwhile, if there are any specific significant new features that you would like to see added to the site that you believe we may not be aware of, please feel free to list them on this post so that they at least can be considered!

Hope everyone is doing ok during these challenging times. Wishing the best to all!

-Jace

Do you have a link where I can look at this? Im not sure if I'm understanding correctly.

... but they are already merged? You are 5th, I am 7th.

I am using PAL, as in UK, and PAL scores are in the leader board with the NTSC users, when I cannot compete with them in reality.

So you mean to separate them?

Ha haa!! Was I saying it wrong? Indeed.
On GT3, there's only three PAL users, Me, Barthax and Adeyblue. So one of use should be the leader on this game. Let's look at the leader board.

Hang on?? Who the hell is Frankie Duncan Rodriguez?? :D

As a good example, here's the PAL leader boards, and it is ruled by NTSC.
Let's rid this site of xenophobia!! ;)

We cannot separate them. If you want to have a separation like that you would need to add a game to the database that was called GT3-PAL and only have PAL tracks there.

The current GT3 and NTSC and PAL tracks under the same game.

I think it makes sense to differentiate regional versions at the game level. Unfortunately we've been differentiating NTSC and PAL on a track level pre TGSAP. I'm sure its something that can be undone but would require considerable effort. Maybe add this to a 'parking lot' of things to consider in the future.

While the frame rate between PAL and NTSC are the primary differences, sometimes the software itself is different. For instance, there is at least one license test in Gran Turismo 2 that has different gold, silver, and bronze times between NTSC-U and PAL times. Here's a link to a Gran Turismo Wiki site that shows these differences. For Gran Turismo 3, there's an article in Redit that describes the differences in AI car levels between NTSC-U and NTSC-J. So yeah... there are software difference that can impact performance advantages. How much of an advantage... I'm not sure.

Hi @Jace Hall , I just remembered a very annoying issue. Everytime a proposal track gets fully funded, its rules and aditional info sections lose the format and all text becomes a single long line without any spaces between lines or paragraphs. This problem has been in the system for years now.

Also I just noticed that any text your write in the Aditional Info section of the original track, will not appear in the derivatives.

Thanks.

One more thing, that actually FREAKED me out, one time, is the "Follow" button of personal profiles.
I went on a profile I had been following for as long as the option was available, and the button said "Follow" !
I clicked that mother about 30 times!! lmao! Still said follow. If I unfollowed someone and followed them again in their notifications, like, 15 times, I'm sorry.
:D
