We ran our first test live broadcast today to make sure that our ability to stream all the archive video tapes we have is working properly.

We grabbed a tape at random and played it. We have not checked to see if this is a score that was accepted or if this was a submission that was not processed yet.

This tape had not been played in over 15 years!

Nick Vatcher - SNES / SFC - Battletoads in Battlemaniacs - NTSC Fastest Completion- 21:40

The streaming of the archive tapes will continue as time allows. Please go and subscribe to the you get a notification whenever it happens!

TG appreciates the community and we look forward to bringing these lost performances back out into the sun!

Not only is this a "Fastest Completion" video, the player also seemed to use it for a "Most Points" submission. So what is TG policy going to be on these tapes and INP's? By that I mean, are all items going to be resubmitted through TGSAP to check for accuracy and validity by the community or are these scores protected no matter what and this is just a formality to give evidence to scores already in the database?

Also, since TG is going through the trouble and taking the time and resources to make these tapes/INPs viewable by the public I have a suggestion to throw out there. No matter what the results of the tapes, TG actually makes the necessary adjustments to correct scores rather than remove them. If a score has an input error, rather than throw it out like TGSAP would reject a submission, make the proper changes to the score. It would be a waste of time to throw them out if something is found to be off and honestly make the entire process pointless IMO to not make corrections with new evidence showing the actual times/scores. Just my 2 cents on that issue. Of course if something is flat out cheated or not played within the rules of the track, then removal seems to be the necessary course of action or perhaps a track is added to account something. That is another discussion to have.

So if future videos aren't posted here, like the one above, only paying subscribers can watch. LoL. Really? They're old videos, which the majority are probably not even first place scores anymore. Most here will have a mild curiosity to check out some, but not enough to pay.

Props for always looking for a way to generate revenue...but this ain't it.

@Jace Hall , any feed back on my comment above regarding TG's handling of all these tapes?

I think for now, the best way for this to work is for TG to stream/provide the tape content with whatever information it has, and then the community can decide to use the content as an evidence reference for a dispute claim.

There, a removal / correction can be proposed and considered and documented.

If a tape is played that was not already adjudicated by a referee, then it will not be considered as a submission until the original submitted re-submits the performance officially through TGSAP - they can use the already uploaded video as their upload.

Does that make sense?

It does make sense. So if something amiss, open a dispute to talk about the corrections needed.

As for your 3rd paragraph; While I understand the TGSAP system is the now system most of those people may not be around to submit to TGSAP. Hell, they probably aren't even current members. If the tapes/cds are in TG's possession, is that not them having been submitted but never got adjudicated for one reason or another? Could TG not enter them into the Database or at the very least put them in the TGSAP system for adjudication? In my eyes, those tapes are submitted scores. If they are already in the database, awesome we now have proof of the score! If they aren't in the database, I feel they should be adjudicated.

We will not create accounts for these people for their TGSAP records to be referenced and linked to. TGSAP requires that the submitter have a verified and agreed account and that they submit their score again. We are not taking in non-adjudicated scores from old TG eras. Those people were submitting to a referee system that no longer exists.

The best we can do is make sure the data is not lost. If those people ever want to come back, claim and resubmit they are free to do so.

i asked this elsewhere and you said it would need considering, but if this is gonna be the new central thread its worth bringing up. you chose your words wlel, you said "not already adjudicated by a referee". well what if it was already adjudicated by a referree, on the scoreboard, and then wiped. then could it be put back? i realize of coures this would require BOTH the video as well as proof the score and player used to be recorded. hopefully things like wayback machine will be sufficient proof for that point
