Gamers for Giving is fast approaching, where 30 members of the Twitch community will come together to help support hospitalized children. We spoke to ImCoty and Khaljiit, who are slated to participate in the two-day event.

Last week we covered the Gamers Outreach Foundation and their event Gamers for Giving, a two-day streaming spectacular that unites prominent Twitch streamers and competitive gamers alike to raise funds and awareness for Project GO Kart and Player 2 initiatives, which seek to provide recreation and entertainment to kids in hospitals through portable, medical-grade video game kiosks. We spoke to two participating streamers for their input on one of the most enjoyable experiences of their careers!

It’s (Coty) Heim Time!

Vancouver, Washington-based streamer Coty “ImCoty” Heim is a Gamers for Giving veteran, but is back and ready for more! He’ll be hosting his own charity stream, which can be found at his Twitch Channel.

Twin Galaxies: Is this your first time streaming for charity? For Gamers for Giving?

Coty “ImCoty” Heim: This will be my sixth time attending Gamers for Giving and my third streaming for them.

TG: What are some differences between streaming for charity and streaming for yourself?

Heim: It always ends up being a good time when you're hanging out playing video games with your buds and raising money so kids all around the world can do the same.

TG: How rewarding is it to stream for an event like this?

Heim: This is my favorite event of the year. Last year we visited one of the many hospitals this program supports and it reminds me every year why this is so important.

TG: What about Gamers Outreach drew you to becoming involved with Gamers for Giving event?

Heim: The first year, I showed up to show my Call of Duty skills. During that event, I learned about and met so many of the organizers of this project that I couldn't help but make it a yearly thing.

TG: Which games will be you be streaming for your charity stream?

Heim: Probably Counter-Strike, Fortnite and whatever else we're feeling that day.

TG: Do you have a specific goal you would like to reach for your charity stream?

Heim: I'd love to keep up my tradition of raising enough for a whole kart!

TG: What are your thoughts on the video game kiosks that Gamer’s Outreach provides to the kids in the hospital? What is your favorite thing about them?

Heim: I love that it adds a very real connection for the kids. I think a lot of us use video games as a safe place and this will give them a lifelong connection that they can continue to expand on outside of their time in the hospital.

Next up, Khaljiit!

On the flip side, this will not only be streamer Khaljitt’s first Gamers for Giving, but the first time she’ll be streaming at a charity event ever. Suffice to say, the California-based dog-lover is thrilled for the opportunity to stream for the event and will be ready to go. You can find her at her Twitch channel.

Twin Galaxies: Is this your first time streaming for charity? For Gamers for Giving?

Khaljiit: This is the first physical charity event I have participated in, so I am looking forward to being surrounded by amazing streamers working toward the same goal. This is my first year for Gamers for Giving as well.

TG: What are some differences between streaming for charity and streaming for yourself?

Khaljiit: My normal streams are very chill, not focused on donations or subs, but during charity events I like to be more energetic and go full salesman-mode to help raise donations for charity.

TG: How rewarding is it to stream for an event like this?

Khaljiit: Charity events have always been my favorite thing, and I expect this one to be even better since I will be at a physical event for it!

TG: What about Gamers Outreach drew you to becoming involved with Gamers for Giving event?

Khaljiit: I think other streamers told me about the charity and once I looked it up, I knew it was something I wanted to be involved in.

TG: Which games will be you be streaming for your charity stream?

Khaljiit: I think I will be streaming a lot of Monster Hunter World and Dauntless for the event.

TG: Do you have a specific goal you would like to reach for your charity stream?

Khaljiit: If i can raise at least $3,500 I will be happy, but I would love to raise $7,000 as a personal stretch goal.

TG: Do you have any special content planned specifically for your charity stream?

Khaljiit: I am still brainstorming a lot of things. I hope to be able to do an "auction" of services and art by different users in the community.

TG: What are your thoughts on the video game kiosks that gamers outreach provides to the kids in the hospital? What is your favorite thing about them?

Khaljiit: I think it’s great to both give the kids an escape and let them find a buddy in the hospital they can play multiplayer games with.

TG: What's the largest amount of donations you've ever raised? Are you looking to break that mark today?

Khaljiit: I think the largest donation I ever got was $500, although maybe if I hype this up right we can break that!

We’d like to thank ImCoty and Khaljiit for their time. Be sure to follow their respective Twitch channels and tune in on April 28-29 for the Gamers for Giving livestreams!
