Top Franchises Fortnite Should Team Up With After Avengers: Infinity War

Alright, Epic Games. You brought the two biggest things together with Fortnite and Avengers. Now, where do you go from there? We have some ideas for you to take to the bank.

With the announcement of Avengers: Infinity War coming to Fortnite, the idea got us thinking. What if other franchises joined in on the action? We have some Marvel-ous (see what we did?) ideas in store. It couldn’t just be any franchise, but we narrowed it down to our favorites that could actually work in Fortnite.

As a note to Epic Games: We want our credit for these awesome ideas in the form of cash because these will bring in the v-bucks.

DC Comics would want their shot at Avengers: Infinity War

With the Avengers: Infinity War crossover, this one is a given. Whatever Marvel does, DC will want to do as well. With omnipotent superheroes like Superman, this could have the usual DC universe or it could go even crazier with the multitude of DC stories across the multiverse. The Russian Red Sun Superman, steampunk Gotham By Gaslight Batman, the movie Justice League’s armored version of The Flash, and Arkham Asylum’s Harley Quinn instantly come to mind.

Items would be pretty neat too in this version. While Marvel has its own trove of weapons and items it can use (Mjolnir, anyone?), DC has Batman. His arsenal alone is worthy of a paragraph, but Harley’s mallet, Joker’s (or or even Scarecrow’s) gas, Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth, and Aquaman’s trident play their parts well.

Star Wars would be a Force to reckon with

May The Porta-fort Be With You?

Blasters and lightsabers would fit right in to the crazy world of Fortnite. I’d say in most cases, blaster weapons would just be re-skins of current weapons with lasers added. But, lightsabers would add a new melee mechanic to the game. Droids can litter the battlefield to offer support or even defense mechanics.

Limited Force abilities would be necessary for acrobatics, but giving people the ability to jump or use special abilities (even if it’s for a short amount of time or with limited usage) would add to the usual Fortnite chaos.

Or an entirely different direction could be had with the 50 vs 50 mode, offering the clone army vs. battle droids or stormtroopers vs. rebels. You know what? If Epic Games doesn’t do this, I’m looking at you, EA. Add this battle royale to Battlefront II as a free-to-play mode and people might forgive for the loot box debacle.

Dragon Ball would make Fortnite go Ultra Instinct

If you’re going to give superpowers in the game, you might as well take the level over 9000! Gun are useless in battles against Super Saiyans, so giving people the ability to change out ki blasts and attacks, not unlike the Dragonball Xenoverse franchise would work out better. Starting out, players have no main attacks other than punching and kicking, but they discover new powers. Maybe a player finds Kamehameha, but goes into a building and finds a Super Kamehameha. They’d just swap it out and move on, similar to different tiers of guns already in Fortnite.

Flying would be a mechanic that would have to be added. This would make traveling from one side of the map to the other much quicker and easier, but it also makes you an easily spottable target. They could add a marker to the player when you’re flying to keep people more grounded unless absolutely necessary.

Also, collecting the Dragonballs would be a really good challenge for this crossover. If you collect all 7 different balls across multiple games, give the player a “wish”, which adds to their tiers.

Rick and Morty (or Portal, if you choose)

I'M FORTNITE RICK!
I'M FORTNITE RICK!

I added Rick and Morty to this list for 2 reasons: Randomness and Portal Guns. Aliens scattered across the map could add a new challenge in defeating them, similar to the hordes in Fortnite’s Save The World mode. Also, the Counsel of Ricks would definitely like to fight it out against each other. 100 Ricks all fighting each other would be a pretty epic battle, in my opinion, especially if they can find Meeseeks Boxes.

Portal Guns would add an entirely new mechanic to the game. Shoot a portal and choose a quadrant where it’ll end up. Making it precise is unnecessary, as that’d just kill the balance. But, a quick getaway or hitting a place in the map that is harder to reach from where you are is a good start. Giving a limit to portal uses would be needed, as well as a way for someone to cancel out your portal use, which would waste your ability.

Go Go, Power Rangers, into the Fortnite

Ok, costumes are an obvious must, if you include the Power Rangers. But, hear me out: Zords. Not only do the Power Rangers have weapons like swords and blaster weapons, they have giant mechanized robots that they control. Imagine playing a 5-man team mode to collect special power ups and calling forth a Megazord to crush your opponents. But, your opponents did this as well. Giant Megazord brawl in Fortnite? We vote yes.

With major comic events like Shattered Grid bringing together several types of Rangers and the mobile game, Power Ranger Legacy Wars, bringing even more together to fight with and each other, this is an easy fit for costumes, as well. Plus, we just want to play as the evil Tommy known as Lord Drakkon from the comics.

Runner Up: Console Exclusives

This one seems like a natural fit for those that have played the multi-platform game Minecraft. With skins available from Halo and Super Mario Bros, console exclusives can easily cross-pollinate with minimal issue. How would console exclusives work in Fortnite though?

It’d be as simple as costumes or weapons, honestly. But, it’d be really neat to see a Spartan II (Master Chief) running around with a battle rifle from Halo. For Nintendo fans, they’d be more subtle in the costumes. As opposed to having Super Mario run around with rocket launchers and assault rifles (because you know that’d never fly with them), they’d have simple logo shirts or a skin for the pickaxe.

Check out five ideas that would make the Avengers and Fortnite crossover even more epic.
