Thanos and Infinity Gauntlet Mode Receive Major Changes in Fortnite

Epic Games has announced major changes to the Avengers: Infinity War villain Thanos' damage and health in Fortnite Battle Royale's Infinity Gauntlet limited timed mode today.

Today, Epic Games announced on the official Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit that it would be making changes to Thanos in the Infinity Gauntlet limited timed mode in order to "allow more folks to truly experience the power of Thanos, while also making you feel powerful when wielding the gauntlet". The changes that have been made to Thanos in Fortnite's Infinity Gauntlet mode include the increase of the damage that his beam does from 12 to 20 against players, an increase of his punch damage from 80 to 100 and a reduction in Thanos' health from 800 to 500.

Other changes for the Infinity Gauntlet mode include the following: reduced height of the bus when players are dropping, a bigger storm circle to begin the match, less damage taken from early storm damage ("first 3 storms from 5%/5%/10% per tick to 1%/2.5%/5%"), the initial Infinity Gauntlet spawn time changing from the bus ride in addition to 30 to 45 seconds to the bus ride plus 120 to 135 seconds, an increase in the spawn rate of Med Kits, Chug Jugs and Big Shields and the removal of Bandages and Slurp Juice.

Fortnite Design Lead EpicEricSW stated on the announcement thread that the reasoning behind the reduction in height of the bus when players are dropping is to "prevent camping in the air for the first gauntlet drop", as many Fortnite players had been utilzing the technique of waiting in the air until the Infinity Gauntlet first lands in order to become the first player to transform into Thanos.

The crossover event for Avengers: Infinity War and Fortnite has seen the two biggest entertainment franchises in the world combine forces at the height of their popularity, which has caused a massive amount of excitement for everyone who loves to battle it out in Fortnite and watch Marvel's greatest heroes face off against the Mad Titan Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. With these new changes to Thanos, these fans can expect to deal considerable more damage with the villain, but will be in control of a weakened Thanos when it comes to his health.

The battle against Thanos has effectively been nerfed. As with major enemies in MMORPG's like "WoW", it matters not when you have enemies that can deliver 50-100% player damage in a single blow so long as players are skilled enough to avoid being hit to the maximum potential possible, or at least to minimize damage inflicted upon them.

In general the longer the enemy is alive the more dangerous it is.

Best analogy...the "old Thanos" stats were like playing straight pool while the "new" stats are like playing nine-ball.
