Ring of Elysium is the new hotness when it comes to the red-hot battle royale genre. Often called a “PUBG ripoff that’s almost as good as PUBG,” Ring of Elysium (ROE) is a game that many battle royale fans have been trying to find for some time. Unfortunately for them, the game is only available in Thailand. But there is hope - not only can you download this game, you can play it in English as well.
DISCLAIMER: In order to play the game, you will need to install some third-party programs onto your computer. The process to apply the English patch is also a bit challenging. If you lack the experience or willingness to go through the process, then just sit tight for an English version to release.
Update: Luckily, you don't need to manually apply the English patch yourself anymore, as the latest ROE patch offers an English translation. We'll leave the notes just in case things change in the future.
How to Download Ring of Elysium
ROE is only available through Garena, a Singapore-based gaming client. Go ahead and download the client, install it, then create an account to log in. You’ll then need to change your region under the “Settings” tab to “Thailand.”
While that’s installing, mosey on over to Source Forge and download Process Hacker. The name shouldn’t frighten you - the program itself is a more complex and in-depth version of your normal, everyday Windows Task Manager. You’ll need this to find some information to push the English translation of ROE to your client.
Once the game is finished, launch the game, then launch Process Hacker. Look for “Europa_Client.exe,” then right click and choose “Properties.” Then, open up your Notepad on Windows and copy the line marked “Command Line” and paste it into the pad. It should look something like this:
D:\Garena\ROE\32838\Europa_Client.exe" -garena -token=xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx== -uid=xxxx-language=th -server=login1101.game.roe.garena.in.th:8001
You’ll need to add a few things to your command line, so it will look like this:
@echo off
"D:\Garena\ROE\32838\Europa_Client.exe" -garena -token=xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx== -uid=xxxx-language=en -server=login1101.game.roe.garena.in.th:8001
exit
In the Command Line, make sure to change the “th” to “en” (bolded for your convenience) in order to push the English patch into your game.
Your version of the command line will have numbers where the X’s are above, but they’re user-specific digits that correspond to your account, so do not share that info with anyone.
Once you’ve edited the command line, save the notepad file as a .bat file and place it somewhere safe. Make sure you save it as a .bat file or it won’t work. At this point you can close the game down and exit out of Process Hacker. Now, launch the .bat file, which should automatically launch ROE. The game should also now be translated into English.
If you’d like, you can remove Process Hacker from your PC. Keep in mind that this isn’t an “official” English release either. Things can change, making this process completely useless at a later date. Until then, enjoy Ring of Elysium!
