Tired of being just the helpers, these supports stomp their way to victory.

It makes sense in games like League of Legends or Overwatch to have a balanced team. Everyone plays their roles and as a unit, you become stronger than the sum of your parts. But sometimes, having an unbalanced team is just as good, or even better. These 6 players decided that the optimal play was to choose an all support composition for their attack, and it seems to have paid off quite well.

6 supports take Volskaya in 90 seconds from r/Overwatch

The composition of Lúcio, Mercy, Zenyatta, Moira, Brigitte, and Symmetra launch their attack with the help of Lúcio’s speed boost ability. They are able to stun and disable the frontline of their enemies quite quickly, giving them a way through the first chokepoint of the map and picking up four quick kills. Now on the point, there is little left to oppose them, just the enemy Moira and Zarya who are unable to do enough damage by themselves.

With the enemy team dead and the first point captured, the support squad is free to begin their attack on the second point. Though they are able to pick up two more kills on the approach, they lose Zenyatta in the process, a devastating morale hit that they must soldier through, at least until he is resurrected by Mercy that is. Now on the second point, the team is able to stagger the respawns of their opponents, preventing them from making a concentrated push to retake the point. Despite losing Zenyatta one more time, the team is able to secure the second point, concluding the match in just under 90 seconds total.

While the fun and games continue in Quick Play, some of the pro players in the Overwatch League have not been having quite as much fun, with Dallas Fuel Player EFFECT taking a leave of absence for mental health reasons.
