It was the clash of Korean Champions vs "Korean Killers" as Kingzone DragonX took on the Flash Wolves for a spot in the Grand Final of the Mid-Season Invitational.

A showdown that would be the last series for one of these teams, as we inch ever closer to the Grand Final of MSI 2018. With the LMS Champions taking on the LCK Champions, it was sure to be an explosive match no matter the outcome. Here’s a brief breakdown of the series.

Game One

The Flash Wolves managed to pick up first blood early in the match, targeting the bot lane to prevent KZ from getting ahead. Unfortunately for FW, the Korean Champions had other threats than just their bot lane, picking up kills on their top laner while moving to secure objectives across the map. Though the Flash Wolves fought back, they were slowly outpaced as KZ took objective after objective, building a lead while looking for advantageous positioning. A large team fight that broke out did give Flash Wolves fans something to cheer for, as they handily won the engagement to slow the pace of the match, but though they were slowed, KZ were never stopped, claiming more kills and objectives before launching an attack on the base of FW directly. Though it would take a little more time and a few more objectives, KZ would eventually find the fight they were looking for, taking down the Flash Wolves and ending the game with the victory.

Game Two

The Flash Wolves again picked up first blood in the bot lane, but this time managed to avoid the retaliation from KZ elsewhere on the map. The Flash Wolves continued to target the bot side of the map, picking up more kills when they contested the Dragon as they looked for an early lead. KZ seemed to stabilise a bit when they claimed their first objective, but the Flash Wolves had them beat there too, picking up multiple objectives in response to build their lead even further. As the small victories kept piling up, the Flash Wolves eventually found the engagement they were after and won the next team fight, before picking off more members of KZ when they came to contest major objectives. After securing the Baron and cracking open the base of KZ, it wasn’t long until the Flash Wolves had won another team fight and put themselves in position to end the game, claiming the second match of the series.

Game Three

The Flash Wolves continued their trend of early kills, picking up first blood yet again as they looked for an early lead. Both teams kept within close range of each other as they scored more kills and objectives, before KZ started to swing into gear. Outpacing the Flash Wolves in terms of objectives, KZ managed to find an excellent engage that scored them four kills for two deaths, before returning to the heavy farm and objective style game play that allowed them to build a lead. As the objectives kept falling, the Flash Wolves made their move at Baron, however despite both teams losing two members in the fight, KZ were able to secure the buff and use it to break open the Flash Wolves base. At the height of their power, KZ were felled in a team fight gone wrong, as the Flash Wolves tried desperately to keep their base intact. It didn’t take long for the Korean Champions to return however, and after a series of individual kills managed to once again break open the base of the Flash Wolves, and this time end the game.

Game Four

A rare departure from the previous games saw KZ pick up first blood in this match. Both teams traded objectives before coming together for a minor skirmish that eventually saw both teams walking away bloodied, but not defeated. The momentum from KZ allowed them to pick up repeated objectives and kills before making their way to secure the Baron buff. With the added pushing power, KZ were able to break open the base of the Flash Wolves, though they were not able to end the game just yet. Pulling back for another Baron buff, KZ again launched their assault, this time finding much more success as they took down almost the entire Flash Wolves squad before claiming the match and series victory.
