Battalion 1944 Announces $50,000 Blitzkrieg Masters Tournament

The first Major for the World War II first person shooter Battalion 1944, Blitzkrieg Masters will feature a $50,000 prize pool for competing teams to battle for a share of.

Bulkhead Interactive, the developer of Battalion 1944, has announced the First Major for the esports scene of the World War II first person shooter in the Blitzkrieg Masters Tournament. Featuring a $50,000 prize pool, each of the 16 Battalion 1944 teams who qualify to make the trek to Amsterdam for the Blitzkrieg Masters Tournament will have plenty on the line when battling for the right to claim the first Major championship of Battalion 1944. Blitzkrieg Masters will be taking place between September 27th to the 30th.

Beginning in July, online qualifiers will begin taking place, as 12 of the 16 competing teams will be able to qualify for the Battalion 1944 Major. The online qualifiers will be open to all who want to enter, so those who have been honing their skills in Battalion 1944 will now all have the chance to compete for the $50,000 prize pool. The four remaining teams will be invited based on criteria that has not yet been announced by Bulkhead Interactive. 

There will be five European qualifiers where the top two teams from each will qualify for the Blitzkrieg Masters Major. North America will have two online qualifiers where the top team from each will qualify for the tournament in Amsterdam. Registration for both the European and North American online qualifiers will open up on July 1st.

EU Qualifier 1: 21st & 22nd July
EU Qualifier 2: 28th & 29th July
EU Qualifier 3: 4th & 5th August
EU Qualifier 4: 11th & 12th August
EU Qualifier 5: 18th & 19th August

Battalion 1944 Blitzkrieg Masters Major North American Online Qualifiers

NA Qualifier 1: 14th & 15th July
NA Qualifier 2: 28th & 29th July

The champions of the event will take home the grand prize of $30,000 and exclusive in-game gold weapon skins to commemorate the victory. All of the tournament action will be taking place at the Esports Game Arena in Amsterdam.

With the title of the game's first Major and the largest prize pool in the title's history, Battalion 1944's Blitzkrieg Masters will be a defining moment in the history of the esports scene for the World War II first person shooter.
