The video game industry veteran has been named the new President of Intellivision Entertainment and will be leading the company's plan to relaunch the Intellivision console.

Today, May 29th it was announced that Video Games Live creator and 30 year veteran of the video game industry Tommy Tallarico, who had been teasing a very big announcement recently, was named the President of Intellivison Entertainment and that company will be relaunching the Intellivision Family Video Game Console in the future.

Intellvision Entertainment stated that the new Intellivision console, a name for the relaunched product has not been announced yet, will "carry on the company tradition of 'firsts' with its new concept, design and approach to gaming." When first introduced, the Intellivision console brought the first 16-bit gaming machine, console to offer digital distribution, console to bring speech and voice to video games, console to license professionals sports leagues and organizations and other accomplishments to the industry.

Intellivision Entertainment will be looking to Tommy Tallarico to help accomplish its focus of rebranding itself for the 21st century, but still holding onto its roots that made it a industry legend.

"I grew up playing Intellivision with my parents and younger brother. It was always my favorite system because the games were cutting edge, yet fun and simple to play so our entire family could enjoy them together.  I find those important elements to generally be lacking from our industry with the current modern gaming consoles," said Tallarico. " Our goal is to change that by focusing on bringing all age groups and levels of gamers and non-gamers together while introducing new generations of people to the legacy success of the Intellivision brand."

Original Intellvision team members that will be assisting Tommy Tallarico in the relaunching of the revamped 1980s console include Intellivision Entertainment's Chairman Steve Roney, Vice President of Technology Bill Fischer, Game Design and Development Group Leader David Warhol, Vice President Emily Reichbach Rosenthal and veteran Intellvision contractor and historian Paul Nurminen, who has been named Vice President of Product Development.

More details regarding the new console will be released on October 1, 2018. Fans can sign up to receive updates of the console on Intellivison Entertainment's offical website.

With a special and unique limited edition version of the console not being made available in stores, fans who are excited to get a hold of the special edition console will want to make sure to be one of the first 100,000 to sign up on the website, as these individuals will receive an exclusive opportunity to purchase the limited edition version of the new Intellivision console.
