Get ready to get your nunchaku on. Bandai Namco put out their latest trailer for Soulcalibur VI featuring the reveal of the flamboyant, seafaring martial artist Maxi.

Soulcalibur VI is about to get it's share of tricky martial arts and style. In a new reveal trailer from Bandai Namco, regular Soulcalibur staple Maxi made his appearance with his trademark style of swift moves, throws, and misdirection.

The trailer, revealed on May 31, 2018 features Maxi and his stage - seemingly an elaborate port of ships - as the character's style is demonstrated against much of the known Soulcalibur VI roster. It would appear much of his brash and arrogant nature, as well as his naval fashion and sensibilities, still make up the foundation of Maxi for his new arrival.

Maxi has always been a character that was reliant on sheer speed, interrupting enemy attacks, and mixing his moves between attacks with his nunchaku and a myriad of kicks and throws to combo up his opponents. If the video above is any indication, it would appear that many of his strengths have been left intact. However, that also means occasionally leaving himself open due to his relatively short-ranged weapon and need to get close to his opponents. Players are going to have to utilize every little bit of Maxi's speed to dizzy up their opponent and take advantage of the confusion.

It's worth noting too that Maxi makes up the final piece of a trifecta of related Soulcalibur staple characters to have come to the game, the other two being Xianghua and Kilik who were confirmed earlier in 2018. It may have been a given that Maxi would finally make his appearance with the other two already included, but fans of the character can now rejoice at his concrete inclusion in the new game.

Soulcalibur VI has no release date as of yet, but will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2018. In the meantime, check out the previous reveal of the strange mechanical swordsman, Yoshimitsu.
