The Command and Conquer franchise is back, and this time it's coming to mobile devices.

Featuring multiple lanes and some very familiar RTS elements, the title promises very tense action that has familiar units battling for control over the map. Bringing the action from the PC to Mobile may have been a challenge, but so far it looks to be an interesting twist on the franchise.

The Command and Conquer franchise is one of the most beloved RTS series out there, but it’s not a series that lends itself to extremely quick gameplay, trending more towards a slower, methodical approach as they best way to succeed. The gameplay revolves around capturing and holding three control points in the middle of the map, with majority control of the points granting the player control over the large missile tube in the center of the map. The player in control of the zones when the missile is ready will benefit greatly, as it fires towards the enemy base dealing a ton of damage.

Players will be able to build decks that they will use in combat, similar to how Star Wars Force Arena or Clash Royale, with the cards used in the decks determining how your game will play out. With games of this kind, there is naturally a kind of rock / paper / scissors style of combat, so it’s good to have a mix of troops to counter any situation.

The Alpha pre-registration is available for Android users right now, so fans of the series can jump on and hopefully check out the latest offering soon. For more on what EA had to offer in their press conference today, check out the Clone Wars content announced for Star Wars Battlefront 3, here.
