We have talked to many speedrunners in the past year, with many of them making appearances at Summer Games Done Quick 2018. One of the first runs will be from ChrisLBC, who is running Any% on the first Spryo game on the PSone. After that is RiskyCB who is running the indie hit Iconoclasts Any% on PC. Then on Monday we have our favorite 7up gamer Glitchcat7 running Cool Spot on the SNES, the very cartridge that was given to him by his father as a child. Zic3, who we talked to about Owlboy, will also be there rocking Titan Souls on Hard Mode for a 100% run. GrandPOObear will also be performing the hottest category for Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES All Forts as a race against mitchflowerpower.

Needless to say, there is a lot to get excited about for Summer Games Done Quick 2018, and these are just a few of the runs on our list to check out.

Personally, I have really enjoyed being a part of the speedrunning community, at least as much as I can without actually having a run to call my own. I’ll be picking up something eventually, just yet to find a game that I really jam with. While all communities have their ups and downs, I have gotten a lot of joy by talking with runners for various articles and checking out their streams.

My heart goes out to every speedrunner, or any type of gamer for that matter, that have the bravery to help a cause. Games Done Quick is a lot of pressure for some runners, but the good being done through these events makes every second worth it.

Gamers can make a difference, and Games Done Quick is a prime example.
