Enjoying the community creations and opportunities afforded by Fortnite's new Playground Mode? Good news, the mode is reportedly set to stay with the game for the foreseeable future.

Fortnite's Playground Mode was delayed for quite a while as Epic Games fine-tuned the experience that allows players to practice their building and shooting skills, along with the opportunity to freely experiment and create with what the game has to offer. That said, Playground Mode rolled out recently with Update v4.5 as a limited-time mode and players went right to work on stretching it to its limits. The good news is that they won't have to worry about having this fine new mode for just a limited time. Epic is apparently. making Fortnite's Playground Mode permanent.

As reported by PCGamesN, a member of the development team for Fortnite recently commented in a Twitch Stream that they were getting ready for an update that would make Playground Mode a permanent addition, rather than a limited-time mode. The comment appeared in the chat and was instantly screencapped and preserved in a post over on the official Fortnite Subreddit.

Players in Fortnite's Playground Mode have used it for a myriad of fun, including this attempt at making Godzilla, which turned into a deadly monster duck, courtesy of Reddit user Beanbag1992.

Players have been able to use the Playground Mode to try out all sorts of interesting things with Fortnite's existing mechanics. Some players have made original creative structures. Others have built Mario Kart tracks and 3D representations of 8-bit video game icons. The mode can also be used to practice and play with a multitude of settings to either up your build game or work on your shooting skills. Truly, if it's already in Fortnite, it would appear that you can experiment with it in Playground Mode.

Whatever you intend to use Playground Mode for, it clearly has a lot of applications, almost like a freeform, Minecraft-like variant of the game, and clearly Epic Games likes what they have built and what players are doing with it. There's no confirmation past that original comment from the devs, no time frame, or any sort of indication of the future of Playground Mode, but it's good to know that players can look forward to being able to enjoy the mode without fear of it going away in some later Fortnite build.

Fortnite Battle Royale pros have also been testing the extent of the mode. Check out Team SoloMid's Myth and FaZe Clan's Tfue going heads-to-head in Playground Mode.
