Five Pokemon Go Events We Want to See In the Future

Now that Articuno Day and another Community Day has come and gone, we're ready for the next wave of event Pokemon to catch in Pokemon Go. Here are five events we'd love to see in the future.

The Articuno and July Community Days are both behind us as we move into the second summer of Pokemon Go’s life. We know Niantic probably has an idea of some future events, but we took the liberty to come up with five events we’d love to see in Pokemon Go at some point in the future.

Bagon Community Day

We love Dragon-types, and one of our all-time favorites is the Bagon line. Bagon evolves into the pseudo-legendary drake Salamence, one of the absolute coolest Pokemon designs of all time. It would be a blast to see these Dragons spawning all over the place (especially if we have a chance at some Shinies)! Plus, Salamence has an awesome candidate for an event-exclusive move in Outrage, one of the most powerful Dragon-type attacks in the main series games. Plus, we all need some help getting that Gold Dragon medal, right?

Giant Dragonite Raid Boss

Keeping the theme of Dragon-types, we all fondly remember episode 13 of the Pokemon animated series, Mystery of the Lighthouse, which featured this giant Dragonite who guarded a lighthouse in the Kanto region. Since the game is full of references to the anime, such as Ash Het Pikachu, the Eeveelution Name Trick, and the recent Squirtle Squad-like event, trainers could batle the giant dragon and have a chance to catch this massive Dragonite. And once the battle is over, they can catch an XL Dragonite, similar to the recent Articuno Day event. Whether the Dragonite is colored normally or in this midnight color, we think the event would be a great opportunity for Trainers of all levels to get their hands on a powerful Pokemon.

Giant Tentacruel Raid Boss

While we're on the topic of the anime, we have another idea. Because the only thing better than one giant monster is two giant monsters, we think the giant Tentacruel from episode 19 of the Pokemon animated series, Tentacruel and Tentacool would be an awesome raid boss. Plus, it would give Tentacruel, a Pokemon not known for being spotlighted often, a chance to be featured in a major way.

Nincada Event

Nincada was recently revealed alongside its evolutions as part of a new wave of Pokemon that will be released at some point. We think the summer would be a perfect time to have an event surrounding a Pokemon based on cicadas, a group of bugs known for coming to life in the summer. Plus, we really enjoy Ninjask and Shedinja and think they’d fit perfectly into Pokemon Go.

Party Hat Wurmple Event

Come on, you knew this cute little bug would be on the list somewhere. Since its first appearance on the Happy New Year 2018 loading screen, Trainers from around the globe have been clamoring for an opportunity to catch a Wurmple with a party hat. We think enough is enough, and we need to get our hands on this festive little worm. It can keep the hat as it evolves or not, we don’t mind. All we know is, we want Wurmple!
