Epic Games has officially sent the tac SMG to the Fortnite Vault with the introduction of the its replacement of the new submachine gun in the v5.0 patch notes.

Season 5 of Fortnite has seen the implementation of its first content update in the v5.0 update, and its patch notes has revealed two major changes. The tactical SMG has been sent to the Fortnite vault to join the likes of the crossbow and guided missile launch, while a new submachine gun weapon has been added to replace it.

With the current meta for Season 5 of Fortnite favoring the use of submachine gun or SMG weapons, many members of the community were shock to see that Epic Games was intending to add another SMG to the game. However, the idea of the developer removing the tactical or tac SMG from Fortnite and adding it to the title's vault looked to have not crossed the minds of many individuals.

Unfortunately, fans of the tactical or tac SMG will no longer be able to utilize its current power in their quest for victory royales and will now have to perfect their use of the newly added submachine gun weapon that has been introduced into Fortnite to replace its tactical counterpart.

The v5.0 content update marks the first time a weapon has been vaulted in the battle royale game in Season 5's young life and with the addition of many new weapons in recent weeks, other weapons that have been in the game for a significant period of time could also be possibly targeted by Epic Games for the vault.
