Epic Games does like making money on their baby, Fortnite. When we heard that fortnite was getting a licensing program, it was inevitable that toys would be made on their numerous skins and harvesting tools. Well, tonight at the official Funko Fundays, CEO of Funko Brian Mariotti showed off a ton of concept art from upcoming and previously unannounced items. Then, he showed off the one Fortnite fans were waiting for since earlier this week when the new broke that they were coming.
Among the dozens of Pop! and vinyls that were shown, one of the images caught our eye. Yea, that's the Rex Skin from Fortnite. It's unclear from the angle if it includes the back bling (which it most likely does), but the rest of it is there in its entirety.
There's no exact date just yet. But, earlier this week it was told that the initial Fortnite Funko products would be out in 2018. Yes, that's a wide window, but it's better than nothing. This is just a taste of what's to come anyway, as it's been said there are 10 of the Funko lines being utilized. In addition to Pop! figures, the lines will also include their Pint Size Heroes, Vynl, 5 Star figures, and Pop! apparel. That means bigger vinyls, tiny vinyls, detailed vinyls, and Fortnite shirts with the Pop! versions printed on them.
As a Funko Pop! collector myself, this is likely to make my wallet take a massive hit by the end of it. The pricing has not been announced. But, as with any other of the Pop! line, the price may very depending on the stores that are selling it. This varies between $9.99 and $13.99, depending on how much the store wants to profit.
In addition, I might as well show the other video game related Funko products shown during Funko Fundays today. This includes a ton of new Fallout Pop! and 5 Star figures, as well as Mega Man and Crash Bandacoot Pop! PEZ dispensers. I'm totally digging that Exclusive blue power armor, personally.
Speaking of some Epic news (pun intended), check out the results of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish that happened tonight as well! In the mean time, I'm hoping for a chase version of the Rex Skin Pop! that includes the matching harvesting tool in his hand.
