All the action as the EU LCS closes out week 7 of the Summer Split.

The EU LCS has finished for another week, and while some teams managed to pull out victories, other teams need to rethink their strategies a bit. Here’s a brief breakdown of the matches to close out Week 7 of the EU LCS Summer Split.

ROCCAT vs Giants

An exciting match to kick off the day saw ROCCAT taking on the Giants in a rough and tumble clash. Though ROCCAT was able to accrue a lead throughout the early and mid-game, the Giants turned up the heat later on in the match, turning the tides on their opponents and reducing the lead to nothing. Though ROCCAT tried to regain control of the map, the Giants were in prime position to capitalize on their strengths and win the game.

H2K vs Splyce

Continuing the excitement for the day saw H2K taking on Splyce in a match that may have started slow, but very quickly became a thriller. While both teams scored some isolated kills through the early and mid-game, the real struggle was over objectives, with both teams heavily focusing on map control and securing as much power as they could. When the action finally kicked into high gear, it took off with a bang, as both teams threw everything into the fray. Ultimately, H2K walked away the winners, after building up their lead for much of the match and proving to be the stronger team in the large-scale fights.

Vitality vs Unicorns of Love

Marking the half-way point for todays games saw Vitality taking on the Unicorns of Love in a clash that started with a bang and never really let up. Both teams came out of the gate swinging, though it was Vitality that proved to be the stronger team in the early game as they dominated an early team fight. Though the Unicorns of Love tried their best to keep pace, Vitality proved to be better at controlling the map as they secured all of the neutral objectives. A last stand by the Unicorns of Love proved to be inadequate as Vitality blew through their base like a hurricane to end the match.

G2 Esports vs Fnatic

A much-anticipated clash between these two teams ended much sooner than expected, as Fnatic proved to have a much better read on their opponents coming into this battle. Though G2 did manage to keep pace for some time, they ultimately fell behind as Fnatic prioritized skirmishes at key moments to create opportunities to pull ahead. Within a very brief period, Fnatic pulled away considerably to close out the match, taking down G2 once again.

Misfits vs FC Schalke 04

Misfits have not had the best weekend, falling victim to a surprisingly aggressive Schalke squad to close out the day. Though both teams showed early aggression, it was Schalke who repeatedly pulled away from their opponents and sought to establish a lead for themselves. After pulling sufficiently far ahead, a final confrontation allowed Schalke to secure the win, boosting their morale and position as the teams look towards playoffs.

With only a short time until the Summer Split playoffs, the teams of the EU LCS will need to plan their methods of attack carefully, lest they spend another few months watching their rivals achieve glory at the World Championships.
