Do you have what it takes to hang with the best?

Shacknews is doing it again! After the success of the Shacknews $50,000 Gaming World Championship at E3 2018, the website has decided to look to their roots, creating the Quakeholio Tournament at this year’s QuakeCon.

One hundred and twenty-eight players will take part in the contest, seeking glory to their name and a share in the $5,000 prize pool. The contest itself kicks off at 7pm on Friday August 10th at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. First place walks away with $3,000, with second place taking home $1,500, and third place pocketing $500.

The tournament will play out gauntlet-style, featuring id Software classics such as Doom, Doom 2, Quake, Quake 2, Quake Live, and some other surprises the Shacknews team has up their sleeve. If you can’t make it to the event itself, you can catch all the action from the Shacknews Twitch stream, embedded above. If you’re at the event and feeling lucky, you can sign up for the tournament on Shacknews, here.
