The Heavy Sniper Rifle has officially been confirmed as the new gun for Fortnite Battle Royale, as Epic Games has updated the in-game news tab for its battle royale title.

The news of the official confirmation and revelation of the new gun for Fortnite will be added to the battle royale game in the near future comes after footage of the Heavy Sniper Rifle for Fortnite was leaked by dataminers. Epic Games' official description of the new Heavy Sniper Rifle gun for Fortnite states that the weapon will be a "New Epic and Legendary sniper rifle capable of dealing high damage to structures."

With the leaked footage of the Fortnite Heavy Sniper Rifle showing off a new gun that can destroy structures in one shot, it will be interesting to see how the community will react to the addition of the new gun. This reception will be especially focused on as the community has not been pleased with the struggles that building has seen in Season 5 with the implementation of powerful and high capacity SMG weapons.

You can view the weapon stats for the Heavy Sniper Rifle below.

- Damage: 157.0
- Fire Rate: 0.33
- Magazine Size: 1
- Reload Time: 4.1

Epic Games has responded to these concerns by applying a nerf to the powerful drum gun weapon and increasing the health of structures of all materials, but the early footage of the heavy weapon could point to a weapon that can even overcome the recent buff to the health of structures.

Are you excited to see the new Heavy Sniper Rifle to be added into Fortnite Battle Royale or are you not pleased to see another anti-building weapon make its way into the battle royale game? Let us know in the comments below!
