Guy "Dr DisRespect" Beahm is one of the most popular streamers on the platform of Twitch, as tens of thousands of viewers routinely tune in to watch Dr DisRespect compete in a multitude of battle royale and first person shooter titles.
This has led Dr DisRespect rising to become one of the most popular PlayerUknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) streamers on Twitch to the point where PUBG Corp. gave him two of his own personalized skins, and now has him ready to use his standing in the PUBG and Twitch communities to organize weekly PUBG tournaments.
During a recent stream, Dr DisRespect decided that he did not want to hold off on the news and revealed that he will be hosting his own PUBG tournaments with an official announcement to come in the future when all of the details are finalized.
"I don't want to delay it anymore. I'm going to be starting my own tournaments. We'll have more of an official announcement later on once everything gets all polished out and trust me when I say this. It's not going to be just a little..it's going to be the next level of weekly tournaments. We're going to be starting with Battlegrounds first. Money on the line, etc, etc, etc," said Dr DisRespect.
Weekly tournaments for battle royale titles have become one of the most popular events in the competitive gaming world in recent months with YouTuber Daniel "KEEMSTAR" Keem starting the craze with his Friday Fortnite tournaments and continuing with his weekly Realm Royale tournaments. KEEMSTAR has also announced that he is in the process of organizing weekly PUBG tournaments. Epic Games has been utilizing the weekly event format as well for its $8,000,000 Summer Skirmish Series.
Now, Dr DisRespect will be throwing his sunglasses in the battle royale battlefield of weekly tournaments.
Stating that his PUBG events will be "next level", it is likely that Dr DisRespect will be looking to have high profile influencers from Twitch and YouTube compete on a regular basis, as this formula has proven to be a major success for the likes of Friday Fortnite, the Summer Skirmish Series and other weekly battle royale events.
No other information regarding the weekly PUBG events organized by Dr DisRespect was made available.
However, with the reveal being made by the two-time champion, an official announcement regarding the Dr DisRespect PUBG Tournaments will likely be coming in the near future.
