SoulCalibur 6 will be getting a secondary story mode involving player created characters interacting with the main cast and fighting with community created fighters as well

SoulCalibur 6 is nearly here, and we're still getting a steady trickle of information out as the release date inches closer.  Today for Gamescom, Namco showed off a new trailer featuring Tira's return as a DLC fighter and the reveal of a curious new single player mode for the game.  The new mode is called Libra of Soul and Namco is pitching it as a Second Story Mode to pair with the game's main story called Chronicle of Souls.  The mode will have players creating their own character to be the protagonist in a new narrative where they'll interact with the rest of the cast in the game.

As you can see from the trailer, there are a lot of cool meetups teased here.  From having your character hang out with series favorites like Misturugi to even glimpses with your character with Geralt of Rivia, there looks to be a lot of satisfying fan service included in this package.  Beyond the cinematic teases here, Namco has revealed a little bit more detail via press release on their site.

Players will be able to create their character choosing from 16 races such as humans, Lizardmen, Skeletons, Automatons, and many more.  Of course, you’ll also be able to customize facial features, hairstyle, clothing, armor on top of the fighting style and weapons your character uses.

You will use your character in this mode to gather Soul Edge shards while fighting characters from the main storyline as well as ones created by the community.  There will be specific rules and modifiers used to spice up your fights so not every fight will play out the same way.

If this secondary story mode can deliver an experience that feels as involving for fans of the series as Namco makes it out to be, this could be a lot of fun.  Be sure to follow us on Twitter for all updates and coverage regarding SoulCalibur 6 and keep your eyes on Twin Galaxies for all your Fighting Game news!
