PAX West 2018 Fortnite Summer Skirmish Format, Prizes and Registration Process

Epic Games has announced the details for the Fortnite Summer Skirmish $1.5 million tournament that will be taking place at PAX West 2018.

The final event of the $8,000,000 Fortnite Summer Skirmish Series will be taking place at PAX West 2018 with a $1,500,000 tournament that will be open to all PAX attendees to enter. This final Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament will be a 3-stage-solo event that will take place from Friday, August 31st to Monday, September 3rd. 

Each stage of the PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish $1,500,000 tournament will feature a scoring system based on placements and eliminations.You can find the official scoring system for the final tournament of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish at PAX West 2018 below. 

VICTORY ROYALE: +3 POINTS

2ND-3RD PLACE: +2 POINTS

4TH-10TH PLACE: +1 POINT

3-4 ELIMINATIONS: +1 POINT*

5-6 ELIMINATIONS: +2 POINTS*

7+ ELIMINATIONS: +3 POINTS*

According to the announcement of the format for the event by Epic Games, the elimination points can only be earned once per match.

Three Stage one heats will take place to begin the Fortnite Summer Skirmish action every day from Friday to Sunday. These heats will be open to the first players who register for the tournament at PAX West 2018 each day of the convention. Placements will be decided by a mini-series of two matches that will take place for each heat. The top 32 players from each heat will then advance to the Stage Two Nightly Qualifier of the PAX West 2018 Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament for the same day.

Each night will then see the nightly qualifiers take place for the players who advanced from the day's stage one heats. The top 33 players from the nightly qualifiers will then advance to the Grand Finals of the PAX West 2018 Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament on Monday. All of the players who qualified for the the Grand Finals will then battle it out in a series of six matches to determine the champion of the PAX West 2018 Fortnite Summer Skirmish.

An additional bonus of $25,000 will be awarded by Epic Games to any player who is able to secure a Victory Royale during any of the matches for Stage 3.

PAX West 2018 Fortnite Summer Skirmish 2018 Registration

"Registration each day is a first-come-first-serve basis beginning at 8:00AM PDT at PAX Lot 73 on 8th and Pine. Interested players must complete the following challenges in order to register:

Have a valid ID and PAX Badge for the day. (You may not sign up squad mates)

- Be 16 or older at the time of the event.

- Agree to the Summer Skirmish Event Rules and Code of Conduct..

- Pick an available heat that you can attend for that day.

- Use the on-site peripherals (mice/keyboard/controllers) provided.

It’s also important to note that registration must be done separately each day if you would like multiple chances to make the Nightly Qualifiers."

PAX West 2018 Fortnite Summer Skirmish Equipment

"The competition will play out on dedicated, high-end PC machines. Peripherals that will be available for all participants during this event are as follows:

- Logitech G502 mice

- Logitech G-Pro keyboards

- Standard Xbox One and PS4 controllers (as an exception, players may bring their own officially supported Xbox One or PS4 controllers)

- Astro A40 headsets

- Alienware AW2518H monitors (1920x1080 resolution locked)
