Just after the announcement of the Gambit game mode for Destiny 2, Activision is keeping the hype train moving at Gamescom with a trailer for the Forsaken expansion and a free trial for the Gambit mode.

Activision Blizzard, and Bungie have been busy with Destiny 2 at Gamescom in Germany, among other things. Today, we got another fresh look at the upcoming and anticipated Destiny 2: Forsaken expansion, as well as an offer to try out the newly announced game mode, Gambit, in a free trial starting soon.

The trailer, shown at Gamescom on August 23, 2018, featured our friend and plucky robot Cayde-6. Anyone who saw the initial reveal of Forsaken might recall Cayde-6 didn’t quite do so well, but here we get a more in-depth look at the moments that lead up to Cayde’s last stand. With it he gets a little more of a glorious moment than the tragic snub he got at E3. You can see the trailer in full below.

That wasn’t the only thing revealed. With the trailer, Activision Blizzard and Bungie also announced that all players would be able to have a go at the newly announced Gambit mode, beginning on September 1, 2018 at 10AM Pacific Time for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. PC players will only be able to access the mode exclusively through Blizzard’s online Battle.Net platform.

There are still a lot of questions unanswered about the new Gambit mode coming. We know little more than how the ranking for the mode works, with players being able to win Infamy as a currency for engaging in matches, but we’ll have plenty more details about the mode when we’re playing it on September 1.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is slated for release across PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4, 2018.
