The LA-based team has released three players over the weekend, in addition to the roster shuffles they made during the Overwatch League season.

Now that the Overwatch League has finished for the season, many teams are starting to look at their current rosters, and whether changes can be made to better improve their chances come next years competition. The Los Angeles Gladiators have already bid adieu to main tank Chan-hyung “Fissure” Baek, who left to join the Seoul Dynasty earlier this month, and have now said farewell to several other players, Choi “Asher” Jun-sung, Luis “iRemiix” Figueroa, and Ted “silkthread” Wang.

The Gladiators made the announcement on social media, posting a tribute video to the players to thank them for their efforts during the inaugural season of the Overwatch League. “Thank you to iRemiix, Asher, and Silkthread for joining us in our inaugural season,” wrote the organization on YouTube. “They have exemplified what it means to be a Gladiator and will always be remembered in our original legacy.  We wish you the best of luck, friends.”

All three players are now presumed to be free agents for the time being, joining the free agent pool later this month where they can potentially sign on with expansion teams in the lead-up to the 2019 Overwatch League season. Reaching out to his fans on Twitter, Silkthread explained that “I know for a fact that I didn’t reach my full potential in season one, and it’s completely up to me to reach that ceiling I know I can touch,” he wrote. “I will prove to everyone how talented I know I am as a player.”

While we don’t yet know what teams, these players will go on to join, several Overwatch League teams are looking to make roster changes of their own, and with the addition of expansion teams for next season, it’s likely that these players will not be team-less for long.
