Team SoloMid Fortnite player Daequan recently explained why he chose to not attend the PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament.

The final tournament of the $8,000,000 Fortnite Summer Skirmish Series is currently taking place at PAX West where all attendees of the convention have been eligible to fight their way through the three stage tournament and secure one of the 99 spots in the grand finals of the PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish event.

However, one of the most popular and talented Fortnite players in Team SoloMid player Daequan did not make the trip to the PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament where a prize pool of $1,500,000 will be awarded.

Due to the extremely large prize pool, some members of the Fortnite community were surprised to see that Daequan had decided to not make a trip to PAX West in order to compete in the final tournament of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish even though his Team SoloMid teammate of Ali "Myth" Kabbani and many other professional players made the journey to take part in the action.

During a recent stream Daequan was asked why he decided to not attend and compete in the final Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament. Daequan would go on to explain why he did not make the trip to compete in his answer.

"Because nobody is streaming so it's like 'my viewers now'. I would have been streaming more but like my aunt passed unexpectedly and all of that stuff so you know," said Daequan. "I get more out of not going to PAX than I do going to PAX in terms of pretty much everything. That's pretty much why."

It looks as though Daequan of Team SoloMid decided that the positives of not going to the tournament and streaming when many other streamers are at the event competing outweighed the potential possibility of him winning a major share of the $1,500,000 prize pool that is available at the PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish event.
