Battlefield 5 Battle Royale Named Firestorm, Featuring 64 Players

It would appear that Battlefield V is gearing up to join the growing number of battle royale games. In a new video, they announced Firestorm as a 64-player, battle royale-style mode.

Ever since the Blackout battle royale mode was announced for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, many eyes have turned back to EA and DICE, expecting to see an answering battle royale mode in Battlefield 5. As it turns out, Battlefield 5 will have a battle royale mode. It will be called Firestorm and feature 64-player matches.

The reveal was made in a new video featuring Battlefield 5 game modes, first appearing on the official Battlefield YouTube channel. In its short part of this overall video, Firestorm is explained as a 64-player match featuring 16 teams of 4 players, vying for victory as a circle of fire swirls inwards.
