As we get closer to the multiplayer world of Fallout 76 in November 2018 and its upcoming Open Beta even sooner, Bethesda keeps the information coming in both classic and comedic format with its humorous Vault-Tec You Will Emerge instructional videos. The latest video just dropped, and it brings players a wealth of information about how nuclear weapons will work in Fallout 76 and how to obtain them.
The new video was released on the official Bethesda Softworks YouTube channel, featuring the aforementioned nukes as its primary theme for this edition of the ongoing You Will Emerge series of Fallout 76 videos.
The video clarifies a number of details that have previously been hinted at since the presentation of Fallout 76 at E3. Despite some obvious embellishment, lampooning, and good, old-fashioned wasteland monsters and murder, the new trailer drops some interesting tidbits about how to obtain access to nuclear weapons and what they can do. In order to use a nuclear missile silo, a player needs launch codes to be able to access the missile launch system. It would seem the codes can be dropped as prizes from some enemies, but Fallout 76 obviously encourages players to team up and pool their acquired codes together to achieve the goal of annihilating a spot in the already atomically polluted world.
Once a nuke is launched and kills most anything caught in range, it creates a heavily radiated wasteland area, featuring increased danger, but also rare materials and treasures to be found. With that comes far more powerful monsters making that precious irradiated material you need to create better things that much more of a challenge. It would appear likely that irradiated zones will be a hotbed of player activity in Fallout 76 with greater opportunities for group combat against larger and more terrifying monsters and crafty wasteland wanderers trying to get a leg up on their fellow Vault-Tec residents.
Fallout 76 is slated to launch on November 14, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Open Beta for Fallout 76 doesn’t have a release day just yet, but with the launch of the game right around the corner, we’re certain we can expect to hear new information about the Beta sooner than later. Hopefully nukes will be ready and on display for our devilish machinations when the Beta arrives.
