Epic Games, the developers of Fortnite, are used to dealing with unpredictable storms in their extremely popular game, however they now face a storm of a different nature as Hurricane Florence approaches their headquarters in North Carolina.

Hurricane Florence, one of the biggest storms this writer has seen, is currently skirting the edges of the United States, causing state agencies and citizens to rapidly prepare for incoming damage. Epic Games HQ is smack in the middle of the storms path, residing in Cary, North Carolina, and it’s only natural that fans of Fortnite and the developers would be reaching out to offer their thoughts and prayers in this uncertain time. However, some fans have embraced the theme of Season 5 to its full extent, jokingly predicting that this is a part of the plan involving the Fortnite Cube, and the other objects that have made their way from our world and into the game.

This was planned they will make the storm teleport into the game opening the cube and a new game mode, where instead of a storm you have to dodge a hurricane| but that's just a theory a game theory https://t.co/Kt71yHIBcv
@EpicGames Are you prepared? The storm is coming. Be safe during #HurricaneFlorerence #Fortnite

Not all used the opportunity to make jokes however, with others hoping that the developer makes it through the storm safe and sound. It remains to be seen whether this storm will affect the game in any way, however it seems unlikely to cause too much disruption due to the widespread server locations supporting the various regions.
