Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, and Other Digital Board Games Coming to Nintendo Switch

The popular boardgames will be coming in digital form to the Nintendo Switch, including other titles such as Pandemic and Munchkin.

A bevy of some of the best board games out there will soon be making their way to the Nintendo Switch in digital form, including Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Pandemic and an adaption of Steve Jackson’s Munchkin.

Asmodee Digital will be bringing digital adaptations of these classic games to the Switch, with local multiplayer available. The news was revealed in the Nintendo Switch earlier today. Carcassonne, the tile building game of construction, will be arriving in December, complete with DLC expansions and local multiplayer.

Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game will be coming to the Switch in April of 2019, with both a single-player and two-player mode. Pandemic, the popular cooperative disease fighting game, will be arriving on the platform in March of 2019, with DLC expansions available.

Also revealed, though not in much detail, were digital versions of classic board game Settlers of Catan, and an adaptation of classic dungeon crawler Munchkin by Steve Jackson. At the moment, neither of these titles have a release date.

With these classic tabletop games making the journey to the Nintendo Switch, who knows what other titles will eventually arrive on the platform. For more on what was revealed during the Nintendo Direct presentation, check out the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle, here.
