There are a lot of new additions to Destiny 2 in the Forsaken expansion, including more than a couple of new currencies to work with. One of the more important new currencies are Dark Fragments, which are used to purchase bounties from Petra Venj each week.

How to Farm Dark Fragments

Farming up some Dark Fragments in Destiny 2 begins in the Dreaming City. There are quite a few methods for collecting Dark Fragments in this patrol zone:

Petra Venj’s bounties and pursuits

Public Event rewards

Ascendant Challenge rewards

Ascendant chest

Blind Well rewards

Lost Sector chests

Completing Patrols

Guardians should start by heading over to Petra Venj and collecting her bounties and pursuits, as each one will reward a sum of Dark Fragments. Completing these in a timely fashion should be the main focus, along with completing Public Events and Lost Sectors. It’s also recommended to spend some time in the Blind Well, as that is a source of another Seed of Light to unlock another subclass.

Players should aim to turn these Public Events Heroic wherever possible, as though they require a bit more teamwork, the rewards are worth the effort.

Repeatedly clearing Lost Sectors is an excellent farming method, as the reward chest at the end has a good chance at handing out Dark Fragments. The Lost Sector below Petra Venj is an excellent choice, as it’s a fairly short trip to reach the final boss there and claiming the rewards. Repeat the Lost Sector as many times as needed if you’re looking to gain a large amount quickly.
