The latest Nintendo Direct helped to bring the high amount of anticipation for the upcoming title of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to an extremely high level and once again sent positive vibes throughout the Super Smash Bros. community for the newest entry in the popular Nintendo fighting game franchise. Unfortunately, community member Chris Taylor had much more on his mind during this time as he was afraid he would not get the chance to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when it releases, as he is currently bedridden with a terminal form of Cancer.
However, the Super Smash Bros. community led by a charge from Team Liquid Melee player Juan "Hungrybox" Debiedma soon rallied around Taylor in an effort to have Nintendo allow him to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate early.
Hi @NintendoAmerica, thank you for that awesome Direct.

A member of the community, @SpookyWoobler, is bedridden with terminal cancer.
His wish is to play Ultimate before its too late. I know how exclusive the company is with this, but perhaps we can bring him a demo at least? https://t.co/G0CgXaopse
This signal from Hungrybox and the entire community soon began to kick into overdrive as the tweet from Hungrybox alerting Nintendo to the wish and situation of community member Chris Taylor would go on to gather close to 10,000 retweets and over 14,000 likes.
A week later it was revealed that Nintendo had heard the community and their goal to have the wish of Christ Taylor fulfilled, as Taylor announced on his Twitter account that two Nintendo representatives came to his home with the E3 demo version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Taylor was then able to experience seeing his wish of playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fulfilled, as he, his brother, his mother and a friend were able to play Ultimate for three hours in a gaming session that none of them will ever forget and went on to thank everyone who had helped make this a reality.
I found out they were coming around Tuesday and couldn't say cause even a switch with a demo on it is a high value target to be stolen, same for as why i didn't get to keep the demo (though i absolutely expected that)

Seriously though, thank you all so much, you all did this
Hearing the wonderful news of Taylor getting the opportunity to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Hungrybox took to his Twitter account to express his immense level of joy upon hearing of the gesture Nintendo had made.
This makes me so damn happy, can't even describe the feeling

While the negative news from the gaming community often makes its way to the forefront of people's minds, the story of Hungrybox and the rest of the Super Smash Bros. community coming together to come to the aid of Chris Taylor and helping fulfill his dream of playing Ultimate is a shining example of the positive power and great things the gaming community has and will continue to accomplish.
