The Hearthstone Global Games are currently underway, as countries from around the world have selected their best players to represent them and achieve glory. However, the country of Taiwan will no longer have the chance to compete and claim the title of the top country in the world of Blizzard's massively popular card game, as the Taiwan was disqualified from the Hearthstone Global Games on Friday, October 5th. 

According to a report from hearthpwn, Blizzard had made the decision to remove Taiwan from the Global Games after it had found the country guilty of stream sniping during its match against Singapore. 

"The Chinese Taipei Hearthstone Global Games (HGG) team has been disqualified from the Hearthstone Global Games competition," stated Blizzard in a statement to hearthpwn. 

Following the Chinese Taipei vs. Singapore match, the Chinese Taipei team uploaded a video of their gameplay. Upon review of the video, and after reviewing in-person statements from the players, the Hearthstone Esports team has determined that members of the Chinese Taipei team used the delayed tournament broadcast to aid them in a decision during the game," Blizzard Continued. "This behavior is prohibited in our tournament rules under section 7.11a. Specifically, players are prohibited from “[s]tream sniping, or any general attempt by a player to spectate his or her own match or get information from another person spectating the match.”

Based on the timing of this disqualification, the Singapore HGG team will advance in place of the Chinese Taipei team to the playoff stage of the Hearthstone Global Games at BlizzCon," stated Blizzard in its explanation for the disqualification of Taiwan from the competition. 

With the disqualification of Taiwan from the Hearthstone Global Games, the players of Singapore will now have the chance to represent their home country at one of the most anticipated video game conventions of the year in Blizzcon 2018.
