Massive Competitive Ruling Hits League of Legends Worlds Competitors

An astonishing sixteen players and coaching staff from across the world have been punished for varying levels of toxicity, just days before the main event of Worlds 2018 begins.

We’re just days away from the start of the biggest League of Legends tournament of the year, and an astonishing sixteen players and coaching staff have been warned or fined due to toxicity and negative behavior in the game. Routine behavior checks over the past week, conducted by Riot Games, have found multiple occasions of pro players exhibiting unacceptable behavior in Korean Solo Queue during the month of September. Further review of the chat logs and reports for individual games uncovered enough evidence to warrant fines and warnings for sixteen players and coaching staff. Here is the list of players issued a warning and put on notice for the future:

Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen (Cloud9, NA LCS)

Stanislav "Lodik" Kornelyuk (Gambit Esports, CIS)

Zhen-Ning "Ning" Gao (Invictus Gaming, LPL)

Uijin "Rookie" Song (Invictus Gaming, LPL)

Li “4LivcloveR” Zhe (Edward Gaming, LPL)

Jaeha "Mowgly" Lee (Afreeca Freecs, LCK)

Hyesung "Comet" Lim (Afreeca Freecs, LCK)

Additionally, four more players were found to exhibit behavior sufficient enough to warrant further punishment:

Danil “Diamondprox” Reshetnikov of Gambit Esports was fined $1,000

Seunglok “TheShy” Kang of Invictus Gaming was fined $1,000

Yeonsung “iloveoov” Choi, coach of Afreeca Freecs, was fined $1,500

Jian “Uzi” Zihao of Royal Never Give Up was fined $2,000
