Ever since the Guided Missile was reintroduced in Fortnite, the gun has been bugged. What happens is that sometimes when you fire it, no matter the direction you’re facing, the missile will spawn facing directly north. It’s happened countless times and it makes the Guided Missile even more of a useless weapon that it already was. Due to the high risk low reward nature of this bug, almost nobody picks up the gun.
That didn’t stop Ninja though. While playing squads with Dr Lupo, Trevor May and TimTheTatMan, they were facing off against a squad near Retail Row. While the others fought them, Ninja stood back and fired a Guided Missile. The bug happened - despite Ninja aiming toward the sky - and the missile destroyed the staircase he and Dr Lupo were stood on, dealing 74 damage to himself. He stayed silent as he drank some shields, hoping the others didn’t notice the fact he blew himself up.
“Wait… did you just blow yourself up, Tyler?” came the words from Dr Lupo. Ninja denied it, before equipping the Guided Missile again and going for a second shot. The same thing happened - the missile instantly faced north and blew up the brick wall in front of him, dealing another 74 damage. He sat there, wide-eyed at the fact the bug happened twice in a row.
Ninja then went for a third shot before healing. The bug happened again but there wasn’t a wall there until Dr Lupo placed one with impeccable timing. “Oh god, I did that dude, I did that dude, I totally did that dude,” Dr Lupo admitted. “Oh there’s a med kit in here, don’t worry!” Little did Lupo know, it wasn’t really his fault at all.
What’s that saying? “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting something to change”? That definitely applies here - when you’ve had the Guided Missile bug once, don’t keep persisting with it! The weapon isn’t any good as it is, get rid of it! Nevertheless, Ninja’s unfortunate endeavours with the gun have resulted in this hilarious clip - though he wasn’t laughing at the time.
