Cloud9 Counter Strike: Global Offensive player GOLDEN wants CS:GO to be the only game that the team could play on PC.

The discussion of whether or not esports athletes should play games that are not the ones they compete in professionally is always a talking point in the world of esports. One of the latest instances of this topic being brought up was the revelation that Cloud9 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player Maikil "GOLDEN" Selim had made a rule that Valve first person shooter is the only game that the Cloud9 roster could play on PC.

The decision from GOLDEN was revealed during a stream of former Cloud9 CS:GO player Michael "shroud" Grezsiek when the retired player was speaking with current Cloud9 CS:GO player Timothy "autimatic" Ta. Shroud had asked autimatic is he had been streaming which lead the current Cloud9 CS:GO player to state that CS:GO was the only game that he was playing at the moment. It was then explained by autimatic that GOLDEN had made a rule when he resigned with the organization that CS:GO would be the only title that the team could play on PC.

However, autimatic went on to state that any titles that could be played with a controller were fine to play in the eyes of GOLDEN and that talented Cloud9 AWPer Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham was having a tad trouble not breaking the rule that had been set by the roster's in-game leader of GOLDEN.

While this rule created by GOLDEN may been seen as a tad excessive by some, it is not shocking to see the leader of the Cloud9 CS:GO team to not want to disrupt their muscle memory for the Valve first person shooter by playing other PC games. With such large amounts of money on the line and the pressure for GOLDEN and the rest of the roster to perform at the highest level always at the forefront, the team's in-game leader is looking to help improve and maintain the skill of his team in any way possible.
