The Fortnite 6.10 patch notes detail all of the latest additions including the new Quadcrasher vehicle, Fortnite tournaments and an upgrade to users on PS4 Pro.

We love a good Fortnite patch. This latest one, introduced to the game this morning, is an absolutely stellar one. A new vehicle, in-game tournaments, PS4 Pro upgrades, separate building mode sensitivity?! Fortnite patch 6.10 has it all, so let us take you through the new additions and changes.

Fortnite Quad Crasher

We need to get one thing straight. The new Fortnite vehicle is called the Quadcrasher. Not Quad Crasher, Quad Crusher or Quadcrusher. It’s the Quadcrasher, because it’s a quad bike and it crashes through buildings. Now that’s out of the way, here’s how it works.

It seats two players and has a boost meter. To build boost, just drive along normally. When you unleash the boost, you can crash through buildings and structures, destroying everything in your path. You can even crash into players and send them flying into the air. The video above shows off just how the Fortnite Quadcrasher works.

Fortnite Tournaments

We covered the tournaments part of the update in detail yesterday. You can find the full post here but the general gist of it is that tournaments are now available under the Events tab in-game. There’s a number of tournaments available, starting with the Alpha Solo tournament kicking off today.

Navigating to the tab will tell you all of the details for that specific tournament, along with when each of the sessions is and how to participate. Skill based matchmaking is implemented, so depending on your performance in the designated sessions, you’ll be matched up against players of a similar skill level.

These tournaments will give amateur players the chance to showcase their skills and prove themselves against the very best. Perform well every game and there’s a good chance you’ll get matched against a pro player or two. No doubt we’ll see more players break into the competitive scene as a result of these tournaments.

Gameplay Changes

There’s a couple of gameplay fixes and changes that have been introduced. The Port-a-Fortress has been disabled once again and to compensate, Port-a-Fort spawn rates have increased from 3.05% to 4.89%.

The Guided Missile bug Ninja suffered from last week has been fixed finally, and “players will no longer permanently attach to a Supply Drop when grappling to it.” Firing when the Double-Barrel shotgun is reloading will no longer interrupt the animation either.

Other Notable Additions

One of the biggest quality of life changes for console players is that you can now have separate sensitivity settings for combat and building. This means that you can edit builds much faster than your normal sensitivity, perfect for high level players who want to improve at the game.

On a similar note, there’s also now an option in Builder Pro to place builds as soon as you switch to the piece, rather than selecting it then placing it. This basically means you can just build much faster, without having to see a preview. Expect pro players to implement both of these changes to their gameplay - you should too if you have ambitions to reach the top!

Finally, players on a PS4 Pro with a 4K TV now get a huge upgrade. Instead of rendering at 1080p, it’ll render at 1440p. Not quite 4K yet, but it’s gradually getting there and the game should look much better.

There’s a number of other smaller changes with this patch too that we haven’t covered here - make sure you visit the official page to see them all.In other Fortnite news, check out the conversation Tfue had with Elon Musk about playing Fortnite in a Tesla.
