Following in the footsteps of companies such as Nintendo, Intellivision will be launching a new retro-style console, featuring classic titles.

New details have emerged today about the upcoming retro console in development by Intellivision. Speaking at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, Tommy Tallarico, President of Intellivision, took to the stage to give his keynote address, and reveal new information about the console in development.

The new console is to be called the Intellivision Amico and is slated for launch on October 10th, 2020. Bringing together classic game titles from Intellivision, Atari, and I magic, the console itself is fairly competitively priced. The price range is expected to be between $149 and $179, though that isn’t set in stone just yet.

Additionally, all games for the system are set to be rated E or E10, and should run between $2.99 and $7.99 each, meaning that building your collection shouldn’t break the bank. The console is set to boast “the most advanced 2D Sprite-based chip the world has ever seen,” pointing to the console remaining close to its roots and avoiding common re-master mistakes that leave long-time fans unsatisfied.
