All the action from, the final quarterfinal bout between Fnatic from the European LCS and Edward Gaming from China.

We’ve seen exciting matches and stunning upsets so far in the quarterfinals of Worlds 2018, and now we’ve reached the final clash. This series will see Fnatic carry the hopes of their region into battle against Edward Gaming, as both teams look to stack the odds in favor of their region. Here’s a brief breakdown of the series.

Match One

The first match saw EDG take an early lead, as Fnatic struggled to find their footing. Though the first seed from Europe did manage to avoid having a perfect game against the, it was a close thing, as EDG proved that just because they may have struggled in the group stage, doesn’t mean they are a team to ignore.

Match Two

The second match was practically a mirror version of the first clash, as Fnatic took their turn at being the dominant force. EDG barely managed to create speedbumps in this match, let alone road blocks, as Fnatic cruised to a relatively easy victory to level out the scores.

Match Three

This match proved to be a surprising one to watch, with EDG demonstrating a supreme amount of control throughout the match. Unfortunately for EDG, it seems that no matter how much control they were able to exert on the map, Fnatic still found a way to achieve victory, coming back from behind to claim the win despite being significantly down in gold overall.

Match Four

The final clash between these two teams again saw Fnatic control the pace of their battles. EDG did find some measure of comfort in their individual skirmishes, however it didn’t seem to matter in the end as Fnatic leisurely pushed for victory, claiming the series win and booking their spot in the semi-finals.

With their victory here, Fnatic will advance to the semi-finals against Cloud9, guaranteeing that a Western team will make the Grand Finals no matter the outcome. For more on when that clash will come, check out the official schedule page, here.
